Technically, we've only got 96,000 people for Highlands Ranch,so firmly in Suburbia Hell. But since everything sort of melds together with Denver, which has a pop. of 600,000 according to the 2010 Census, we're Urban Urban.

However, because it's Colorado, we can still see the stars at night. :) I would like to move to a bit more removed part of the Conglomeration, but we'll have to see.

It all depends on one's perspective...

I put "my neighbors are cows" but while I live outside city limits, it's in a sprawl area so doesn't feel very country to me. Even though there's corn growing right behind me and beans across the street :p

Let's just say my husband's family (pretty urban) refer to our place as "a nice little hobby farm!" My parents, who live in an actually-rural area, said "nice-sized yard for the city!" :p

Exercising them would definitely be easier if I didn't live in a big city. Mine happens to have a lot of off-leash dog parks, which I guess is good, but not great for those who don't like dog parks or have dog-park unfriendly dogs. To find somewhere for them to run off leash legally that isn't a dog park is difficult. Otherwise though, I don't have a problem living in a large city with dogs at all. And it's excellent for socialization and getting them used to all kinds of different things. :)

I put "I can breath in a small town".

I grew up in small country towns and LOVE them.
But I want something that still has that "home-y" vibe to it but I can get use to the city life as well.

I LOVE the city, but I definitely do not in anyway want to live there, my poor country nerves would go haywire lol

My town is small, but we actually live on the very outside, like, not in the town at all. We have a cow field and a horse field close by, and there's a large wooded section super close by. But its still neighbourhoody.

I love having dogs in a city :) There are so many fun places to walk, parks to go to, dog friendly restaurants, doggy play dates... Cities are usually VERY dog friendly in general
There are plenty of opportunities for socialization lol lots of people, lots of other dogs, LOTS of noises..

the only "down side" is that even when you don't WANT to walk your dog, you must lol there is no backyard to just "let them out" into... so it does kind of force you to get your butt in gear and get out and walk them

but truly, I wouldn't have it any other way :)

We live on the 50th floor lol

I don't live in a big city really so I suppose I could have it worse, but I do wish there were more open space. Our yard is okay enough to play fetch in (would be better if we didn't have a garden, swingset etc taking up space!), but doesn't give the space for the dogs to really RUN. The dog park is really the only place to let them off-leash. Otherwise, leashed walks it is... which are no fun.

But again, it's suburban so it's not so bad.... my sister used to live in Chicago and I couldn't imagine having anything more than a small, lazy dog if I lived there.

Colorado is pretty dog-friendly over all, so there's plenty of areas to get out and play off-leash and the mountains and great hiking are only about an hour away. Most of the state is actually pretty wild still; the main cities are clustered into a rather small radius along the Front Range of the Rockies, so it's pretty easy to get out to the "no one can hear you scream" parts.

Well, the town I am most frequently in has around 68,000 people. So says Wikipedia, anyway. Add the area around campus, and we have around 80,000, give or take.

The town that I live in currently has a population of 608. ^^ ROFL And yes, our neighbor has cows. And goats. And a few donkeys. And there are so few lights out here, the stars are gorgeous and the milky way is clearly visible on clear nights.

I went ahead and marked the 50,000-99,000 just because I'm moving out this summer hopefully somewhere by campus.

Technically I'm in city limits - WAY too urban for me. I grew up on 5 acres and miss having acreage!

Ah that sounds like heaven! We don't have dog parks here in the UK, I'd love it if we did, and places to meet other dogs!

You must have a great view living on the 50th floor! :yikes:

London:population 7,753,600.
I like city city life, but I like where I live because compared to other cities not everything is high rise,I'm right next to a river and 15mims from a park that too me...feels like the country side!

Because I live close to one great park it's fine,I would however now not move to certain are areas in London because their not close to good parks. Also it's not like my street is Oxford street,if it was...hmm I wouldnt like it.I generally keep of the min roads when walking with Coco mainly because people don't see her!
Since having a dog though I would be more likely to move out of the city, but as a general lifestyle change!I think I'm getting old ;)

Ottawa has a population of 870250. We are huge, and many of the old cities are now just considered townships of Ottawa (I used to be in Nepean, but now it's just considered Ottawa)

I live in the middle of Northern Virginia by DC so its definitely urban/city bit I chose rural because I hate living in this busy place and plan to move to farm country area hopefully in a year or two.

Right now live in a pretty rural area. Just farmland, although I live fairly close to a town of more than 60 thousand people. I think.

But in April I'm moving to a pretty small mountain town of about 8 thousand people. The area is beautiful. And I'm a few hours from any major city.

According to Google there should be somewhere between 10,000-15,000 people here. I picked rural, but it could definitely be considered Desperate Housewives territory. Too many big houses and people with too much money living in them. But, at the same time, there's a decent amount of livestock around here. About a mile down the road you can buy beef at one of the farms, and there used to be chickens roaming the road every morning. It's a very weird mix, lol.

21,535 according to the 2010 census figures. Nice and quiet but within a short drive to plenty of shopping, only 6 miles to where I work. Added bonus of being the last house on a dead end road and it really seems more rural than it is actually.
