It's like 15-20 minute drive to get the dogs food, let alone training LOL we don't to to training places, but I'd likely be looking at an hour minimum for the closest decent place

Here too! LOL A town in either direction is twenty minutes!

There is a facility about 45 minutes away for agility, but it's hit or miss. Anything else I could possibly want is at least 2 hours away :( Which, I don't mind the driving time at all... when I can afford to drive my fuel hog truck that much!

My maximum would be a 30 minute drive time - possibly longer in traffic. That's about my maximum drive time for anywhere I have to go regularly - work, school, etc.

30 minutes tops. But there are very, very few things in this world that I would drive more than 30 minutes to get to.

I drive 10 mins to competition obedience and rally class at the local dog training club. It's a huge luxury to me to be that close!

I drove 50 minutes to agility once a week when were were more actively training.

I drive 75 minutes to schutzhund club once or twice a week now - that's considered a "close" club for the sport. Many people drive 3+ hours to get to a club.

I drive about 1h 40m to dock diving club every few months. Our regular practice lake is 40 minutes away.

My max for a class/training session is probably about 75 mins. For a seminar or competition I usually try not to go more than 5 hours away.

The place I go for agility is around 10-14 miles away depending on if we're inside or outside. However, the class is at 6:15pm on a weekday. So it takes anywhere from 25-60 minutes to get there depending on traffic.

It's about 18 miles for general classes, but most of the sessions I've gone to have been held later at night so the traffic isn't bad. We can usually get there in under 30 minutes.

I would say my max for a weekly class would be 90 minutes and even that might be pushing it. It would have to be pretty special. Direction also factors in for me. The obedience club that I would love to join would require me to cross several tolls even though it's only 35 miles away. The tolls would probably almost double the cost of a session, so that's a no go right now.

Like, 15-20 minutes right now. When I have a sports dog I'd be more willing to drive farther, but I don't like driving far away fro anything. Like, today I'm driving 30 + minutes to go to frisbee, and I LOVE playing it, and I'm still a little bummed about the drive.

30-40 minutes for OB, three to four times a week.
1 hour for IPO, once a week.

It's not fun, but it's what I have to do. *shrug*

I would travel an hour if it was for the right classes. Before our current school opened up we were driving 45 minutes to train in an itty-bitty space, but the instruction was awesome. Also, you should travel north for classes more.... ;)

I have traveled 2 hours one way foe training with a Schutzhund group. Now, I travel 10 minutes for the Schutzhund club, 30 for Agility and 25 for OB, oh and another 10 doe more Agility. I have classes 5 days a week and then Schutzhund on Saturdays.

I travel an hour each way for herding, when I was going to agility it was 45 minutes away.
For the right group and the right sport I'd probably go up to two hours every 2 weeks.

I use to go an hour to one place for puppy class with my Doberman. And an hour and a half for agility with him. Where I lived in Idaho, everything was far away. We did this once a week no matter what the weather. I remember driving through heavy snowing conditions to get him to class. I was bound and determined to get him socialized. And we both enjoyed agility.

I don't take my old Chihuahuas to any classes. But if I ever get another dog, it shouldn't be hard to find a good class close by, now that I live in the burbs of a big city.

Uhhh, if it takes me over an hour to get to Brooklyn Park, how long do you think it would take me to get to Ham Lake?!
I'd have to take the whole day off work :p

Depends on the sport, I suppose. Obedience/Rally... 35-40 minutes, tops. I supposed I'd go 45-60ish for agility (though luckily I don't have to!). For something more uncommon, I'd go farther. I'll end up going about 80-90 minutes for herding.

This weekend I drove 4 1/2 hours to an agility seminar. Most of the time I train agility on my own though, or with a group of friends that are nearby.

I also started over with Pan's bitework recently. I've gone out to work with an amazing decoy twice so far and plan on going every 2 weeks or so throughout the summer. I drive 6 hours one way for that.

7 minutes for agility, obedience, rally, tracking and field. Usually. 45-60 minutes for other locations though, kinda a pain but at least we can do agility usually till November outside.

We need pics/video of Pan doing bitework!! :D

I think each thing we do is right around 15-30 min depending on traffic that day. So not too bad! We usually have a lesson a week with the clicker lady (right now I'm doing a reactive dog CU class drop in with Scoutini) that Lily and I are learning Rally with and then do bitework twice (sometimes three if we're lucky... have been on a hiatus from lack of car lately but got one now so yeah) a week with our other trainer/decoy. I honestly do most OB stuff on my own, but have brought up specific things I'd like to work on with the clicker lady so we're making good progress there! :)
