We've got some catching up to do. My house has been the unofficial revolving door foster dog rescue in the neighboorhood. We live in a town where people find it acceptable to set their dogs free and hope that either someone finds them or they get hit by a car. That being said we've rescued 1 dog from the side of the highway, one from someone who just had no idea about dogs, one that wandered up to our house after a terrible storm ( a sweet golden mix who just found a home, who was aptly named Tornado) , a box full of kittens, a turtle, and most recently this guy:

Meet Lobo . Completely moving away from our normal "weather" theme (aka we ran out of names) we moved on to a general outdoor "wild" theme. Anyway he's cute as a button and we have NO idea what he is or even how old. He's smart though. He's learned lay down, sit, come, heel and wait already and we've had him less than a week. Oh, and bonus, he's more or less house trained himself. I don't know how that happened but it did. I thank Stormy.

I don't know if he'll stay since the other ones didn't but then they didn't seem to fit in with the pack as wholeheartedly as he does. Nimbus never got along with Stormy, Bear never got along with Sunny, Tornado never got along with Sunny. Lobo seems to get along with everyone. Tim is the one who suggested we take him home to begin with when the people whose porch he had ended up on said he would go to the pound if we didn't take him (stinkin' emotional blackmail if I ever heard it)

I have a feeling that by the time he's neutered, utd on shots, and fully trained we'll be so smitten that no home will be good enough for him but we shall see. Finding him a home would give us the option to keep the rotating door rotating. :) Just for giggles, what do ya'll think he is?
We guessed something like a boxer beagle cross but have no good ideas.

Hi. I am a total fail when it comes to identifying breeds, but I have to say that Lobo is lovely.

I was wondering how you were :)

He DOES look like Walker, and the fact that he's housetrained himself and has been so easy would make me suspect herding/guardian in the mix -- much more so than Boxer/Beagle.

Sounds like you've got a failed foster too, lol! Congrats.

hehe. Between seeing Tim between his classes, the dogs, 15 credits a semester of school, 40 hours of work, volunteering at a therapeutic equine center on weekends and *cough*taking care of my house*cough* it's hard to find time to do much else. I've missed you guys. I have no idea what this guy could be but since we're in the south a "Walker" makes sense. :) I imagine some sort of herder, maybe a cattle dog if I had to guess since they're rampant around here. Good ol' Heinz 57 is what it boils down to and we love him. :)

Walker as in my dog Walker :p

Who is part Walker hound and Shepherd
Lol, I knew who you meant. Hence the Walker in quotes. :p yourself Bratface. (missed you too by the way ;)) Shepherd would make sense and there has GOT to be some kinda scent hound somewhere in this boys lineage. He'll misplace Tim and immediately stick his little nose to the ground to track him down. Cracks me up. *love*

Lol. Yeah I want him to be a keeper. He's a doll. An absolute doll. We shall see. If we keep him it means that we can't keep others that wander up looking for a good temporary home but it does mean that he'll get a great permanent one. Time will tell. He's entirely too smart. I'm not sure why I keep ending up with these dogs that think it is their personal life mission to confound me. I decided I should really rename him Houdini but then it would only get worse.

Oh, funny story, we have a teeny tiny crate that someone gave us to train him with. Well, I say "crate" and both Sunny and Stormy barreled into the thing. I don't know how they thought they were going to fit. Stormy made the edges bulge and Sunny didn't look comfy at all. We haven't used the crate in eons since we haven't really needed to. I guess they miss it.
