I just took a look at Purina's ask-questions-about-dogs site. Somebody actually wanted to know if it was OK to put your dog in a kennel IN THE TRUNK of your car for a 3-4 hour road trip! With, of course, a couple of potty stops.

Only one--ONE!--person seemed at all upset at the notion. One. The other responders were mostly concerned about was it legal. Yup, that would be the major issue, wouldn't it.

Wait...so putting the dog in the trunk was a bad idea? But I didn't have anywhere else to put it.

I can fully believe it's NOT a joke considering some of the other stupid things I've heard of!

I don't know if it was a dream or a memory but I used to think of seeing my mom and her friend putting me and her friends kid in the trunk. I think they did:cool: I asked and she said no-I don't buy it......................

Real trunk or hatch? lol.

Our friend used to dive during the week at a power plant(that the core leaked and it explains a lot!) and drove home on the weekends. He drove a zx2 and would put a litter box in the trunk and fold down a seat and let his two cats roam around the car while he drove there and back:p My cats would have been permanently attached by claws to my side.

One of the humans should get in the trunk temporarily to absorb the bullets. We don't need to be puncturing the fuel tank.
