Roman wears a thin leather collar with 4 tags or so

Well he used to lol

Now he hardly ever wears it. I got tired of the noise and tapped the tags for a while, but then I took the tape off for some reason... and then when I was fixing his chain I took it off and I haven't put it back on yet.

He's been collar free for a few weeks now.

When I walk him, if I can't find his collar I'll just loop some bailing twine or a lead rope or his leash. I fixed a loop that I can slip on and off his head at the end of his chain so no collar needed.

I like collars for ID purposes but meh, it's not a big deal. The only other thing they're good for is a handle, and I can just grab him by the scruff or use the aforementioned bailing twine or rope for that.

always, with in infrequent exceptions during a good brushing or an indoor bath. She wears a rolled leather collar with all of her tags. When we walk her, she gets another collar (or harness) for the leash, but the leather one stays on.

NO they almost NEVER wear their collars.

We used to have them in their collars at all times until one time Teddy got his jaw stuck in Belle's collar and panicked.

ever since them... the dogs don't wear their collars u nless we are going out.

Collars stay on unless it's bed time then they come off, I normally use buckle of martingale and that's it...Quite honestly, I need some new ones as the ones they have are falling apart :lol-sign:

Usually, yes. There are weeks that they go collar-less though, just because. Their house collars are just plain with plastic buckles so I can get them off quickly if need be. Dance and Keira both have nice leather ones too, but they don't usually wear those unless we're out. We've never had a collar problem here, but I figure better be safe than sorry. If I could trust certain family members not to lose the dogs when my mom and I aren't home, they'd never wear collars, but I can't trust them so I leave collars on for ID purposes.

When we're out in public, all three dogs wear martingales.

the bulldogs wear flat collars all the time. 24/7. if i need to grab dogs to separate them, i want something to grab onto. and if they ever would by some chance get out, i want them to have easily visible id on them, and above all i want them to look owned.

steve only wears a collar if we're going out somewhere.

Usually, unless I forget.

When Maggie and Z still played bitey neck games they both wore quick release collars (Chinook aka KeepSafe); now that they are much more low key they wear regular collars (no floor level vents in our house, neither are crated). Currently the Spiffy Dog collars I got on sale, but that changes depending on my mood. Always a flat collar though, never slip or limited slip.

Kes wears a collar pretty much any time he's not in the crate. He only has a few options right now since he's only been here since May. He has a Spiffy Dog adjustable collar, a leather center ring buckle collar, a martingale for walks, and a new collar with ID info embroidered on for when he's trustworthy off lead (Z has one too for hiking).

All dogs are microchipped, but I don't trust Joe Public to think to have a found dog scanned, so they all wear alternate ID.

Almost never . When we walk them we use british style slip leads . The only time they have collars on is when we go hiking or walking off leash then they have a flat collar with a bear bell and pull tab .

Morgan usually doesn't wear a collar around the house... He is still crated when nobody is home, and I often forget to put a collar on him after we get home from work. If I know somebody is going to be coming over, I'll put a collar on him, and of course he wears one if we go anywhere further than our backyard.

When he does wear a collar, it's usually a standard buckle collar, but he does have an assortment. Right now he's wearing a snazzy new 2" martingale that I made yesterday. :D

Juno absolutely, she's not a door dasher but because she's still an unpredictable puppy with a shaky recall, I don't want to take the risk.

But Lucy does too because we go for walks every day and I'm not really in the mood to be putting collars on and taking them off all the time.

mine wear a simple break away nylon collar (the great thing about having tiny dogs is you can use the cat collars lol), on the collar is a reflective tag with info on (which im now going to have to replace with the new info lol)

i understand the risks with collars which is why i use break aways, they are walked on harness so they dont need a collar capable of a pulling force.

Stella always wears a collar....she's currently wearing the butterfly collar by Up Country, Inc.

We have to have her on a leash anytime she goes outside (she'll run!)...so it just seems easier to keep a collar on her 24/7....

Orange hunting collar for VIctor..and because Pepper is dark colored a reflective collar is imo necessary. I wouldn't have any other kind on either unless it was a special occasion and we were visiting somewhere special.

Neither one of mine wear a collar on a daily basis both of them like to play bite the neck too much. Peewee almost never, unless its for a walk or a trip to the vet. His is just a standard heavy duty buckle collar. Ivan wears a collar when we leave the house. His is a white pine soft slip White Pine Soft Slip and Soft Snap Collars and Leads wonderful collars. He has had the same one since he came home. If I had known about those with the other dogs I would not have spent so much on collars. The only reason Peewee doesn't have one yet, is the hubby and I can't agree on what color to get him.

Mine always wear collars, there's too many people that go in and out of our house and if by chance they got out I'd want ID on them. There just nylon with plastic buckle clips so they can be released fairly easily if need be. Upendi's is just a $5 one from Wal-Mart and Mina got a handmade one at woofstock.
