In the future when I actually have a dog he will go where I can bring him. I'll bring him to pet stores, parks, family picnics any store that he's welcome to but he won't be brought to any parties at friends houses. I'd bring him to a friends if it was just me and her for lunch or something like that but not a party or gathering indoors.
That's the plan anyway, if he ends up being DA I'll obviously be somewhat limited.

I can't take 11 dogs with me lol

If I am going to a fast food to pick up stuff, Peanut almost always comes with me. And he is pretty much the only one that does. Lucy is horrible in the car, she starts howling and moving around too much. And I take my boys to the dog park and river, and for hikes..So they get out plenty. My mom doesn't take her dogs anywhere cause she really doesn't go anywhere but work, and sometimes when I am going to her job to take her something she forgot, or food I will bring a couple of her dogs so she can see them (She usually works 12 hours a day, sometimes 16 hours.)

And if I am going to friends houses, no. I do usually take someone when I go to my friend April's house, cause she is a dog lover..and we usually only do dog related things together. So we always have to have dogs with us! :)

I'd love to live in a world where my dogs are always welcomed, but alas I don't and understand that not all are dog crazy people so most events or gatherings my dogs stay home.

Not at all - Boo comes with me when I go to the barn and that's about it. Obviously if we're going on a hike, or going to pick up animal stuff at petsmart, she can come and get out, but that's unusual.

We like to take her on long trips if possible, but if it's not, she stays at home with neighbors watching her for a week or so while we're gone.

She does go for a lot of car rides though. When the weather is nice, she'll go for the ride and just sit in the car.

I like dogs. I would hope that people respect my dog at my house, but I would NEVER ask to bring her to someone else's house if I'm just going for several hours. On long trips, we've taken her to 1 relative's house with us (for several days) but that's it.

Nope.

If it was a holiday thing and it was very important to me that he be with me, I wouldn't go if I couldn't bring him, of course. But the rest of the time.. Middie isn't invited most places.

No, I take one or two if I have the time and to places where they are welcome.
I don't take my kid everywhere with me, no need, same with the dogs, even Petie who is my heart dog.
I also don't impose upon other people at their homes just because my dogs are important to me.
I also think it is important for the mental well being of the dogs to know that they can be left and not stress, which if a dog goes everywhere with its owner I don't think is possible.

They come with me to my mom's house and my sister's house and whatever stores they are allowed in. I never bring them to some random friend's house unless they ask me to. Just as I prefer people to respect my home and those who live there (including the dogs), I respect them and their home and would never bring an unwanted guest, be it furry or otherwise.

For Thanksgiving, they get boarded. If we are going away on a trip anywhere, they get boarded.

Daisy hates the car, and Benji gets really annoying if he's in the car too long, and may even throw up.

They are homebodies. :p

Depends.

She comes to work with me, comes with me when I go out if I'm going to be quick and she won't be in the car forever.

She comes with me to places where she's welcome - I try not to impose.

On the same note, I hate boarding her, so I tend to choose to go to places where she's welcome over those where she isn't. Take for example, Christmas. We're spending significantly more time with Matt's dad than anyone else this year, since they're explicitly invited Sierra.

I only take my dogs with me if they are welcomed where I'm going. If I'm going to someone's house, I have to respect that my dogs may not be welcome there. Just like that same person will have to respect that they may get dog hair on their clothes if they came to my house to visit.

In general though, I have no problem leaving them home if I need to or I want to.

My dogs go wherever we go, they love the car. But I don't take them with us if we go to someone's home unless they specifically ask me to bring them. I don't like to impose on other people who might not be dog people the way I am.

Nope, not at all. They only come along if we're going to visit a friend for the day and we have permission to grinf them (usually they're invited, actually), going to a park where dogs are allowed, or to a petstore pretty much. If we're going to be doing something where the dogs will have to sit in the car alone, we won't bring them. I take them everywhere possible with me, but they aren't welcome in many places, so most of the time they have to stay home. And when we do take them places, very rarely do all four come along.

Bear goes EVERYWHERE with me unless there is no way in hell he can go, but I literally bend over backwards so he can. :D

Jet doesn't go everywhere with us, as she is VERY home bodied. lol

It depends. I refuse to board my dogs (too much risk, especially with a breed that is prone to bloat), and I also do not trust my dogs (i.e. RONIN) to tolerate a stranger letting them out - with Ronin, I simply won't risk it.

If my fiance doesn't come with me (which is often, since our days off are different), I can usually leave one or two of the dogs with him. This weekend, in fact, he'll have Ronin and I'll be taking Ilsa and Ada with me to visit relatives.

But if my fiance and I both go, the dogs come with us.

The home with the family functions has an unruly bulldog that has attacked one of my brood before and my MIL's dog.

As much as i'd love them to go, its not safe for them to.

Emma and Critter come to work with me occasionally. Scooter used to go everyday until one of my a-hole coworkers was doing "som'thing" to him when i wasnt looking.

Not everywhere, like if we're visiting friends we won't bring an dog unless they say we can. But anywhere dog friendly, at least 1 goes with us. I take Gunnar with me on errands a lot especially when it's cold and he can stay in the van. I take him to Lowes, the pet stores, anywhere we can. I take him to the gas station, open the back doors up, and have him stay while I pump gas, as part of his protection training.

We are going on the first real vacation for us this winter to Florida. In 18 yrs of marriage we have never gone before. We are flying, it isn't possible to take the dogs nor reasonable.
For the first time my dogs will have to be boarded, because I don't know one person close by that can come to my home and care for my dogs. Not many people have the experience to handle and manage a house full of jrts.

A friend of mine has just opened a new small kennel, new building, new kennels, completely climate controlled etc and they spent a small fortune on it.
The trip is in Feb, I plan on doing some dry runs with the dogs, the first time will just be for an afternoon or morning. The next one will be for the day and another one will be for 24 hrs. I am only 5 mins away and my guys will get to know the place and my friend. They will also hopefully come to understand that they have not been abandoned. While we are gone, I am also going to ask Laura (chaz member) if she will take some time to check on them at the boarding kennel or at the very least be available if there is a problem, as she knows my dogs better than anyone outside of my family.

The one time we went away as a family it was for 3 days, the person I paid to farm sit, did a vanishing act with my dog! They were suppose to stay here, but they decided to take my dog to their place instead. I was peaking when I couldn't get a hold of her and was bloody near in a panic when my I called my neighbors and they told me they hadn't seen anyone at my place since we left........ah no she didn't get paid, gezz I was twisted about that.

I take my dog lots of places. He is great in the car as was my last dog. They go to the barn and shopping. THere are a couple of stores that allow dogs. As he is getting older I will take him into the seniors residence my Mother lives in. They like dogs there.

I have family with allergies. I used to take my last dog on vacation but she had to stay in the car when we were in houses because of allergies. If we were outside BBQ etc she was out with us. I hope to be able to take my new guy on vacation to relatives but if we go some where by plane he will have to be boarded.
