the stupid buzzer is ringing on the dryer. the washer is walking across the floor (guess that's bad, right??) so, I'm forced to get my behind out of this chair and do the deed.

unrelated...but I have a few trees that do not drop leaves (they die and look ugly..but still hang on the tree) in the fall. they wait until spring, then the leaves fall when new buds push them off. most of my trees are oak (these are not..lol) anyone have any idea what they may be??? after another weekend of raking........I'm wanting to chop those suckas down. those leaves are just waiting....til I think I'm almost done....then...WHAM....more. I'm not loving them right now.

We had a kind of pear tree that did that. Doesn't actually produce fruit, but called a pear tree nonetheless.

these trees are not ornamental...they are just old trees mixed in our woods. BUT, 3 are directly in my front yard. one is pretty big...and those leaves falling are what I'm NOT looking forward to when I just think I'm getting somewhere in spring yard clean-up. Andrew, I'll try to take a pic of the leaves. doesn't the beech trees have a lighter bark? these trees are dark...just wondered. other trees in this area are sassafras (sp?) (love those to burn..smell yummy!) and maple, and the ever loving old oaks.......boy, do I rake up the acorns. although they have their 'prime' season every 7 years, and this is an off year. oh...also some tree my neighbor calls 'quake & ash'...have no clue. LOL but he swears about them all the time.

I'd live with a walnut tree about as fast as the chain saw would start! acorns are annoying enough, but the squirrels seem to make fast work of clean-up (except that seventh year, then they are ankle deep and I HATE them!!!) :)

so Puck, what is your idea brewing? (I am almost afraid to ask..hehehehe)

I don't know about puckstop, but I'm thinking Andrew's church of the 6th day launderers - providing sanctuary (and employment) to the illegals :D ....all for a 'modest' service char.....I mean donation ;)

Oh dear Debi, not your day is it:rolleyes:
I recently moved house from an area with no trees
and low and behold we move into one with plenty lol.
They are all down the garden and you know,
when winter arrives, the leaves drop off and it looks a mess.
It took us ages to move them, they can become deadly when wet

I agree! I can't tell you how many times I've almost landed on my rear from walking too fast thru wet leaves. I make sure the pathways are cleared first and work my way out (which takes me longer into the next spring every year!) I also cannot stand wet leaves being walked into the house.
