.... so does Grammy. The last three days he just hasn't seemed himself. Last night he wasn't interested in his supper. A BIG red flag! I took him to the vet today and he felt a mass in the spleen area . XRays showed a tumor at least 8 " in diameter. Blood tests were taken and Wednesday we'll have ultrasound through Purdue University. This will show if other organs are involved. ( If so , I'll hug him as he joins all my fuzzy Goldens.) If there doesn't seem to be any other invasion... he will have a splenectomy on Thursday. There will be basically 2 outcomes. ( besides if he even survives the massive surgery )splenetic hemangiosarcoma or splenetic hemangiomas. With the first, removal could give him 6 months. The latter could give him many happy years. If it's the first, I've decided to let him go ... while under. Folks, this hits me hard...as you watch the rockets going to wards the Heavens tomorrow, please send up your prayers for my Chip.I'll keep you posted. I really don't know how I can handle the next 4 days.
