I think I have decided on the Acura. It has everything I want in a car and it's 4 door so it's perfect for us. It also has some better safety features than my Lexus.

I've been arguing with myself about this same thing:eek:

It seems like a lot to be spending for an older car. Why not drive what you have now for another year or two and then pay cash for a newer one or finance some of it for a newer one. Its just that the years you are looking at are at the point where they will need some work. They say they have warranties but they weasel their way out of it.

I spent 20,000 on my 05 a couple years ago and have been looking at newer cars again. I hate the thought of buying new because whats the point? Let someone else make the mistake and I'll buy it with 18,000 or 30,000 on it:p

I am looking at 370zs(no backseat though-and am I ever going to have kids,do I need a backseat) which will cost me about 35,000 with what I want and my trade in.

But I have always wanted a BMW to so I am torn. If I am already spending that much why not get it?!

But I just dumped thousands into my car and its an 05 so make sure whatever you get runs well! the older cars at the dealer are generally not lease turn ins so you have to wonder why people traded them in. I know for me its because something is about to go. And do not trust car fax. My bf just had a horrible accident with the entire side of his car being taken out and the frame being bent and re welded:rolleyes: and they do not even report that. Good for us but bad for whoever buys it.

I like acuras!

We always seemed to have good luck with my older cars. IDK, see he's supposed to be the expert in the car department, lol. He says it depends on the car you get. I have been researching and looking at reviews for days. I am about to go look at an 06' aucrua in just a minute. I guess i didn't think of an '06 as an older car but I forget we are almost in 2012! Also 20,000 is our limit not what we really want to spend. The acura i am looking at is $16,900 sticker price. To actually spend closer to $20,000 we would expect to get more like an '07- '09 depending on the make. If we decide not to get another car then I we will still keep his first Range Rover and sell the Lexus is. I just feel like the Range Rover is overkill for me and one small child, lol.

Your probably safe with the acura even if its older. I've just had so many friends have problems with cars lately-and myself lol. I should have just gotten a new car instead of pouring money into mine. Still debating if I want to spoil myself or be practical:eek: We have four cars-but here we need we both need to have four wheel drive and then something to move hay and our toy:p

I can't believe what year it is!!! When I got the trade in value on my car I was like its how old?!

Yes, my husband collects cars, too. He has his Range Rove for a daily driver and then a "toy". Also we have a very old, very ugly pick up to haul stuff. I like to redo old furniture and I like to garage sale but I don't want a truck for everyday. He has multiple hobbies (and work related things) that require haulig stuff but he doesn't want to damage the Range Rover's interior. He also has a very old jeep for "muddin". Lol. That's the only "southern" activity he participates in. He keeps the 'extra' vehicles at his old shop (warehouse building that his guys work out of).

I love car shopping! Acura's are good. I am currently coveting a Mitsubishi RVR.

Thinking about your kid is fantastic, but I haven't seen what sort of per requirements you have. How big is your dog's crate? Thinks like microfiber and leather are easier to clean kid spills and dog hair off of.

This makes me excited! I looked at the 2006 today. I liked it. I am actually not interested in that particular one, I was just using it to test drive. It was over priced (from one of those places that will allow anyone to finance so they overprice their cars.) and there was some interior damage. The one I actually want is 2 hours away but it's identical. I sat in the one that was around here and looked at it. Danny says I have to go back and actually drive it before we drive 2 hours for one. Maybe I will do that tomorrow.

I really like my Acura tsx. It's large enough to fit us plus all of the dogs. Samantha looks like she would fit comfortably in a TL as well as a child's car seat.

I had to rehome Sam 2 years ago when we were separated. Not a memory I like to relive but it wasn't a secret. I am pretty sure I have mentioned it before. We don't currently have any dogs. Not for going to for a long time after going through that.

Am I an idiot for never having heard of an Acura?

Anywho, Im not a fan of big cars. They don't do well in parking garages, the city on anywhere here really. :p Id be perfectly happy owning a prius. :lol-sign: I love my mom's Opel Astra. I have no idea if you have those in the US though.

IF I were to go with a big car, I'd get a Jeep wrangler. :p

Oh sorry I had no idea.

Still think you should look at Mitsubishis :D The one I liked (they called it a cross over so think smaller than an SUV but SUVlike. Best gas mileage in its class, biggest interior of its class AND awesome warranties!

I'll look, thanks. Danny sold my car yesterday so I am kind of pressed for time, lol.

It's ok about Sam. I thought people knew but I now that I think about it I never made a big thread about it. Around that time I just quit getting online much at all. I don't think I came on here for months and then when everything settled down and I came back it was no longer 'big news' for me and I forget that y'all still didn't really know. I think i have mentioned it in passing a couple times. It sucks. But last I heard she was doing great.

So, I ended up with the G35S sedan. I love, love, love it :D It has almost every option you can have on a car! We got it for a really good price b/c it was mismarked on their website. They tried to say that was a different one til we pointed out that the VIN and stock numbers matched.

No you are not, they are truly rebadged Hondas for the American market. We also have Lexus (Toyota) and Infiniti (Nissan), among others.

Nice choice with the G35, great cars.

So the deal on the Neon is off, then?

What year is that? I recall that you were looking for used. Looks to be in great physical shape.
