and I'm downright depressed about it. Someone tried to make me feel better about it last night, you know, the whole we're doing the best we can for him, he knows we love him, but I'm a little stressed out (and I'm sure he can feel it :().

I know that these treatments are supposed to help him, but last time he was depressed for a few days afterwards... we have to leave him at the vets for a couple hours and the whole experience is just not fun.

We are going to inquire about injection treatment... less chemicals and probably not as hard on his immune system, but we're not sure if they will work for Buddy as the vet said his case was pretty bad.

All I can think of is it's almost over and he'll be well soon and Mordy gave us a great detailed plan to help boost his immunity and I hope and pray that all of it will work so that Buddy can live a life he deserves.

Thanks for letting me vent.

It is hard to try to get someone to feel better when they have to do things like this for their loved ones. The main thing you have to think about is not quanity of years but the quality of them. And let me say this that the quality you give Buddy is more then he ever dreamed of.
It is very unfortunate that some of our little ones are not quite so healthy but this is the way things are and thank heavens that there are people like you that will do what it takes to make his health a priority.
I do know how hard this is on you and all I can say is to be strong and hang in there for him. I must have missed what is going on while I was away and if you feel up to it please let me know what is happening to Buddy.
All my best to you and get well and back up and bouncing Buddy.

Aussie... Buddy has demodectic mites ("red mange") and he had an infection and a icky looking hot spot. The hot spot is nicely healed, the infection is gone, but he continues to battle the mites. He must have 5 chemical dip treamtments :( one every two weeks in order to get rid of them.

Poor Buddy. :( Just full of health issues :(

Hopefully, MOrdy's advice will help him get healthier, and hopefully this treatment, passes quickly and works and he'll forget all about it.

Going to the vet's is stressful for everyone, you and Buddy.

I hope everything goes well for you BP :(

Thanks for the well wishes, guys.

Yeah, Roxy he should be a poster child for BYB and/or Puppy mills... I have no idea what his history is as he came from the SPCA, but he is a mutt...

I have to take him in about an hour and I'm really not looking forward to it...

Poor little man. It's so sad that he has to deal with this on top of the other health issues he's been through. It makes me think that this is exactly why he was sent to you. You know that you show Buddy so much love and that he feels every bit of it. If he has to deal with this at least he has the love of a wonderful home and totally devoted caring parents who'll wrap their arms around him...always. Good luck!
