I'm curious how many of us have a breed, or breeds, like this! Descriptions of ACDs don't fit me very well, but in reality I've really meshed well with and liked the majority of cattle dogs and cattle dog mixes I've worked with and been around. What are yours?

French bulldogs! I like active, biddable, people obsessed dogs. But toad dogs, oh they call to me.

I feel like EVERYBODY likes Frenchies. Even if you don't want to own one, you probably think they're pretty cool. I'm going to start calling it a universal truth...

Ha, I don't have any desire to own one, but I like Frenchies a lot too! I mean... how could you not? lol

Other than my cattle dog experience, you were my inspiration to start this thread! I remember you saying that boxers were that dog for you. :)

I don't know how anyone couldn't like frenchies. It was embarrassing how excited I got when Feist befriended the pack of 3 brindle ones that go to our local beach regularly. All hail the french bulldogs. :hail:

Terriers. I don't want to own one. They are not right for me. But I love them.

(Spoiler alert: it's cheating because I love all dogs.)

If every boxer was like Gavroche minus the million health problems, I'd have loads of them.

It's funny, everyone is al "Boxers are SO HYPER!" but Gavroche...isn't, He has his moments, and he USUALLY can keep it outside, but for the most part he's content to spoon under a blanket. As long as he's under a blanket and touching someone he's happy.

Collies I never even considered until Logan (since that was the first time I realized they come in a naked variety lol). I feel like Moxie collies are a special kind of collie, though. I'm not convinced I'd be happy with any other breeder unless they had VERY similar goals. All the other collies I've met are pretty shy and/or fearful. Logan is the most confident dog I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I love it.

Hounds (excluding sight hounds and Brittanys, because I love them) and herding breeds. I am mostly a terrier person, lol. And this coming from someone who's past dog was a Beagle x.... They are not the type of dog for me at all, even though I really miss Beagle ears.

I don't know...not that I have anything against spaniels, I just never would have thought of myself as a spaniel person, but all the ones I meet are fantastic. Especially Cocker Spaniels and Fields.. I love them. So probably my next dog (in a very far away land) will be a Spaniel.

Also, Pit Bulls. And Staffies. And Bull Terriers. I just love the happy "throw myself into everything" attitude. But I'm not a Bully/Terrier person.

I love Frenchies. Wouldn't own one, ever, but love them.

I also love spaniels, even though I wound't call myself a spaniel person. At all.:rofl1:

Basset hounds. I don't like hounds generally, I don't like stubborness, not a fan of their body type, the smell.. just everything like why.

But then I meet them and I'm like YES!! YES!!! LOOK AT HIS LITTLE FACE AND HIS SHORT LITTLE BODY AND THEY ARE SO AWESOME YES!!

I am fairly certain you are me. I have a pittie and they fit me exactly, I used to have a Beagle and NEVER AGAIN, and am excluding all hounds except sight hounds.

I pretty much came to say....the exact words you said. I include Brittany's in my no-no list though.

I can honestly say that I'm not a big fan of Frenchies. However, I'll admit that I've never met one so... I suppose I'm missing out big time!! (I'll probably end up with a Frenchie as my next dog lol)

On paper greyhounds are not really my type of dog. But I have liked every single one I have met and could've easily sneaked a number of them home. Easily.

A lot of hounds. In particular there was a pair of redbones I would have taken home in a flash. <3
I don't know though, if you look around enough, any breed can look really bad on paper.

Papillons? Kind of? I wouldn't have ever looked into them, probably, on my own. I've never wanted a toy dog. I have yet to find a breed that I find more charming and hilarious. There is just *something* about paps that I love. I spent about 10 minutes yesterday opening and closing my makeup case, which in turn would make Mia shoot off around the house in screaming zoomies. So flipping hilarious. I love her.

I also really like beagles. They're so sweet but totally the opposite of what I like.
