Mommy did a bad bad thing. :p

She left the margarine out on the counter and the dogs ate the WHOLE tub. I'm not sure WHO ate the most but Nanook throws up quite frequently and in the middle of the night she threw up on the floor and HERSELF. Which caused Steve to wretch because he can't stand nasty smells.

So Nanook had her first bath with mommy at 4 this morning. <sigh> I forgot that is was her first bath and just plopped her into the tub. She started freaking out poor thing so I got in their with her and baby talked her til she calmed down and her tail started to wag. She was still not happy though. She rested her head on my leg and whined and whimpered and made the saddest little sounds. But after, of course, she was thrilled. Look at me! I'm all wet!!! lol

Margarine puke. Yuck. At least it was trans fat free and cholesterol free!!!

Don't leave things on the counter!!! Don't leave things on the counter!!! Don't leave things on the counter!!! Don't leave things on the counter!!! Don't leave things on the counter!!! Aaron had a friend staying with us..a particularly annoying young man that drove me straight up the wall. I tend to buy in quantity to save money so i bought this GIANT tub of margarine..the annoying young man left it out and Bronki ate every single bit of it..went to mom's unknowing of what Bronki ate until he vomited on her wood floor..the kind still paste waxed..the kind you take your shoes off before you walk on them when the world is damp..to this day there is a dark stain on that wood. I scrubbed forever..then mom scrubbed forever..so make sure you post a sign..anyone staying in this house...DO NOT LEAVE THINGS ON THE COUNTER. I feel guilty every time i walk down mom's hallway.Thank Goodness it wasn't in the dining room or the front room..then my head might have been on a poke in the front yard.

Lol! Actually Margerine is worse for you than Butter, so I have read (chemically speaking)! I sure am glad that I can leave anything out and Gus won't touch it! I once left a joint of beef out overnight (with a cloth over it) and it was there intact in the morning! He's mummy's good boy!!! ;) Now Katelina is a different matter all together! lol!

it's the trans fats that are bad. That's the crap that's in potato chips and other stuff. Margarine is full of it but Canada anyway changed it's labelling laws a few years ago so it's mandatory to put the amount of trans fats on it. So now we know if we are buying it or not.

Well, I think Nanook may never eat margarine again since that will mean another bath!

Oh yes sometimes I think they should rename dogs to Garbage Disposal. Mine all I have to do is turn my attention away and their they are up on my counter eating whatever they can find. Nalla will sniff anything out dont matter where it is, if it is there she will find it.

i read that margarine was one chemical away from being a plastic..and that the body doesn't know what to do with it so it stores it as fat right off the bat..did you find something that cleaned it completely up? it was the big 1 lb tub that bronki ate..the oily slick went from one wall to the other covering about 3 squares of the parquet floorboards.

she mostly threw up on herself and my clothes so they just went in the laundry. Not too bad. It was nasty, pasty stuff though.

I never saved the articles, Saje, but Smkie's got the main gist of it. I've been harping about margarine for many more years than I care to tally, lol! And now, lo and behold, the medical community has just "discovered" that margarine is awful stuff and butter isn't the killer they've painted it as all these years.

Common sense just tells you that a naturally occuring food is going to be light years better for you than something manipulated in a lab.
