truth be told...
im currently freeked out.
im 23 yrs old, i graduated top 10 in my class form high school i worked my ass off to get my associates with no debt (i didnt qualify for financial aid because of my dads job and no scholarships for newly "imported" british people, plenty for other races though!. i worked 4 part time jobs and managed to get my associates with no debt, i managed to get my car, no payments on that.
i dont live outside my means, when gas prices started going up i took precuations, i got a little 49 cc moped which chould have been easily paid within a year, i get 90 miles to the gallon on that little thing, use the car only in incliment weather/winter was the plan, save a fortune on gas,
couldnt afford to go back to school for my BA, took on a 5th part time job to pay off the moped quickly, then lost my health insurance, and at the same time got laid off from 2 jobs in 1 week, within a few weeks of loosing that insurance i got a huge ulcer, ended up 4000 in debt with dental payments, and very soon after that over the space of a few months lost the remainding 3 of my part time jobs, one of which our family store which shut along with many others due to hard times, another a vets clinic that had to close as they simply wernt pulling enough buisness...
i managed to get a job to replace the ones id lost, it was 1 job, a few hours shy of full time, but it was enough to cover the dental and my moped payments...untill that is they decided that they were paying their staff too muhc and started firing us left right and center to hire new folks at minimum wage and give them only 10 hours a week each
ive been looking for a job since then, its been about 3 months so far, ive lost count of how many aplications, resumes ect ive placed, ive search in a 60 mile radius of both my house and my boyfriends house, and still nothing.
im LUCKY in that when i lost my job my parents offered to let me stay rent free...and there helping me with the bills i do have where they can, but things are tight for them too. Im selling things to bring in enough to cover gas, i cut back on my fish tanks, there all gone, i havent bought new clothes in over a year, i need a pair of shoes for the winter but my holey 7 yr old pair of sneakers will do for now, when i do shop i shop clearance racks, and spoils bins in the supermarket.
its hard...plain and simple...
and while i know one way or another i WILL survive...
the question is, will i loose everything in the process?
the dogs get food because i was smart and when the shop shut FROZE as many bags of dog food as i could in an old chest freezer i picked up of freecycle...
I bought bulk packs of chicken and beef on sale, cut sealed and froze,
*sighs*
life goes on...i just try to do all i can to make sure i keep up as best possible.
