I recently did a project in a course where I had to make a movie poster. I made mine as a documentary on the current state of the American Pit Bull Terrier. At first, it was just the idea of the poster, and passing with a good mark. However, now, I'm starting to get a strong interest in pursuing an actual documentary, with help from owners, enthusiasts, ethical and responsible breeders, and delve into the core reasons why some people dislike them and similar breeds.
Before I do that, I really want to start off with a short movie (to play with my editing skills, since I am wanting to pursue a career along these lines) and I was wondering if any of the misunderstood breed owners (and beyond!) would mind if I used their dog(s) for this. I'd only need a couple of pictures, and a little bit of cooperation.
I'm doing this as a freelance project, in response to some harsh views directed at my previous project, supporting a good APBT image. A few people talked badly, only after they found out what APBT stood for and gave some extremely misinformed information to me! I'm not sure why they were trying to educate me on a breed I hold near and dear to my heart, but either way, I believe these individuals are genuinely misinformed.
Any help is appreciated immensely, and I'll give photo credit if you'd like or don't mind. The good owners deserve to be recognized just as much as the dogs IMO.
