Advice: Getting Tosca to take commands from others

As far as Riot went - I made sure that I was the one person he was bonded to.
I still lived in the basement at my parents when I first got Riot (it was like a little basement apartment). So whenever I wasn't there - it was always my mom who would feed him when asked.
She also did a bit of work with him whenever I wasn't there to work him for the day (he needed DAILY obedience training and socializing when Riot was younger b/c of his breed).
So he developed a type of bond with her.
He still wont listen to her 100% of the time - but its better then anyone else lol He barely listens to what strangers have to say - he'll 50/50 listen to what Tim askes him to.. but when it comes to me he'll do whatever I ask.
If you start getting your SO to feed Tosca in the morning, do some training with her (basic stuff - sit - treat, down- treat).
She'll develop a bond with him.
I'm pretty sure right now she sees him as an equal and she sees you as the leader! hehe

Does she like to play fetch? You could have him have her sit before he throws the ball, combining training and fun. I do this with Casey, to make the training not so rutine...
If I'm just doing basics with Casey, I use his regular kibble. When my mom is working with him, she uses treats or some sort of cheese or meat. (Casey has trust issues with people, my parents being two of them... we have worked hard on this issue...) The best thing I found was to let him know that all good things come from this person.

Yes Riot, you are right. She sees me as the leader, period. I don't really expect her to be totally obedient to him like she is with me, but I just think that a day could come when she has to listen to someone else. Like what if I got hit by a bus? I mean I know that's morbid but I would hate to think that if something happened to me, she wouldn't be easy to deal with.
Erica she loves fetch, but she loves it on his terms. But you are right, we might be able to sneak some training in when she is using him for fetch. That's right, I said using him. I think he thinks that what she does and I feel badly about it. I mean the dog sleeps ON him. She literally has him under her paw. And I just think it is a bit disingenuous of her to jump off him just because I left the room for two seconds.

No thanks everybody. I myself get a kinky pleasure from using a switch and holding my dog's head under water for a minute or two. you know, as they say, just enough to make her *think* she is drowning. I mean that would make me feel so important and powerful! I mean, since i am a loser in the rest of my life, well why not boost my ego by whacking my dog with a bamboo pole? My only regret is that it won't make my penis seem bigger!

I definitely don't think she's NOT bonded to him -- she just doesn't respect him the way she respects you. She's buddies with him, but she answers to you. To dogs (and herding breeds in particular, imo) there's a huge gap between leader and friend. My dogs love everyone but take commands from me only. Only when I'm gone do they answer to other people, and then it's a pecking order with housemates/good friends first.
Eve and Buddy are in the same boat as Tosca right now. I'm trying to get them to listen to the people I'm living with (because I want Eve to respect them and, well, because Buddy belongs to them) and my biggest hurdle has been getting them to impliment NILIF. Especially Jeff, who is a sweetheart but a big softie. He gives "love gifts" to the dogs constantly, and they have no idea that he's doing it because he's fond of them. They think he's their servant.
