So I am hoping to get my Standard Poodle Puppy in July of this next year. I of course want him highly socialized. He will get fairly socialized to other dogs and some scary sounds when he comes with me to my grooming shop but I want to do the 100 Things in 100 Days. I just need to think of 100 things.
What did you guys do for your 100 things (or even if you didn't do the 100 things what did ou make sure to expose your dog too)

One of the first things on my list would be horses as I have horses and want my pup to be comfortable in them. I have though of some others but want everyone elses thoughts.

hmm

I've never heard of 100 things in 100 days--but I would list a few of my top ones as

1. CHILDREN
2. skateboards and skooters/bikes
3. Used to nail clipping
4. Used to being in any position (this is really great--on back, upside down, like a baby in your arms, ect--)
5. Dogs both huge and small
6. Hands in the food, wait for food--food taken away
7. Large objects like trash cans, signs, mail boxes ect
8. All sorts of music
9. Crate of course (probably should be near the top)
10. Traveling in a car

Boy I can probably think of 50 more but I'll let others chime in

washer's and dryers (for clothes) I read somewhere that you should feed your dog on a running washer and dryer a few times, lol
timers (like stove timers) and other types of bells

9)People of every color and with strange hairstyles, mannerisms, etc
10) old people

i would agree with the vaccuum LOL.. everytime i got mine out cinni would think it was a monster and run and hide LOL. now, she approaches the vaccuum with playful likeness...

i would add the following:
- closet doors closing and opening ( cinni got closed up in one by my son LOL)
- family ( obvious)
- any kind of phone ringing
- humitifiers ( Thunder did not know what one was til my mom was here to visit and he got a little too close and the steam burned his nose, he is fine now, but, he will not go near one ever again!!!
- alarms of any sort ( clock, house, car)

there is a few i wish i got my babies use to, but, all said they are adjusting just fine.

Obviously a good breeder does these things as much as possible, but I don't want to stop there and go 'ok my dog is socialized'. I think that would make me a pretty niave owner

One thing that is now high on my list is TRAFFIC

Buster could have never been socialised with traffic as he lived most of his life in a small town. Now as soon as I go somewhere slighly busy he gets relaly nervous. So if its possible, there you go.

Children, dogs, cats.
Rabbits or any prey type animal int he area?
stairs... but it was pretty funny seeing Harry and Mac try to work them for the first time at 2 years old.

lol, Hary used to love mums alarm. He's wake up to it, jump in the bed, lye across her and stare at it, the second it stopped it was TIME TO GET UP and he'd jump all over her.

open bridges and/or planks across streams (you'd be surprised how many dogs are scared to cross these - I almost had a ad collision because I had Koyuk in lead and at the very last second she decided the bridge was going to collapse if she set a paw on it and HALTED with enough force to stop Ronan, cause OC and Koonie to run into them and me to nearly run into all 4 of them with my sled!)

Narrow areas such as a construction hallway

Dark allies

Being stepped over

penny cans and shakers

drunks

being stared at by strangers

not just the crate but the crate while it is being moved around too!

camera flash

LOL people have taken a lot of what I was going to say
