    digging dog

thanks - i already started that, but good to know it works, I hear it from someone in the neighborhood and wasn't sure if it worked. It seemed to have sound reasoning behind it, I was just hoping to find a way to stop them from digging new holes.

    digging dog

they play with each other a ton, and I've given them one spot by the gate they can tear up. I do need to be better about trying to throw things for them to get, but they usually end up playing tug with each other and forget about me. If I put one in the house they bark, whine and scratch at...

    Great Pyrenese question

She is constantly trying to escape, I can't count the number of times she has dug or broke through the bottom of the fence, after reading some posts on huskies and malamutes(sp?) I think maybe she has some type of wanderlust breed in her.

    Great Pyrenese question

No shave job that's her. Thanks for the cute commment - that's part of the reason she got adopted. Cute, soft, and BIG. She doesn't have a double dew claw. I just posted, because everywhere we take her people comment on her looks and ask what she is - I usually tell them whatever they want...

    digging dog

I know it's probably in here somewhere and I did a search but couldn't find what I needed. I have a rescue dog, actually two that like to dig in the yard. I know I should supervise them more, but I have four under the age of 9 and I can't keep my eyes on the dog at all times. They do two...

    Great Pyrenese question

We adopted a mutt, who they first said was a spaniel mix, then they listed her as an australian shepard mix, (she has small triangle ears that flop over). She is pure white except two beige patches over each eye. She is very fluffy and SOFT!! She is also huge at only 9 months she is larger...

Who's my daddy? Mom is a chow...

Hey guys - how about an australian shepard, that would definitely give it the herding instincts and the ears are triangular and flopped down just like an aussie.

doxie car ride at young age?

Also, I read at eight weeks they go through a period where they can get startled and scared easily. If at all possible, I wouldn't take your furry baby with you. I wouldn't even take a human baby at that age if at all possible. I always think of it this way. Could I handle the guilt if...

New adoption - WHAT AM I

Sorry to hear that - did you have another dog at the time or just the acd?? I'm hoping to get this one into frisbee, or agility runs and have my older daughter help. We also have another dog and they tire each other out.

Did a big oops last night-now what.

Ok - just got home from a one hour errand the dog was out for 30 minutes before we left and did pee. When we got home she had somehow managed to pull a pillow near her crate and pee all over it, the crate and herself. auuugh!!! She doesn't seem to mind being in her own pee because everytime I...

We couldn't do it, Carey is still here

I've done this from the start with my two dogs. They always eat after everyone in the family has eaten and it is the youngest childs job to feed them (with my supervision). He's only two and sometimes moves their bowls, takes food out and feeds it to them by hand. I of course am right there...

    My pup aint to good

You can never replace a doggy soul, but a new puppy can sometimes take your mind off of the sorrow with their love, puppy kisses and comic performances. So sorry for your loss and hope your kids will come through this well. Unfortunately life is part of death and it is hard to see our children...

New adoption - WHAT AM I

Thanks sunny pup - was she really soft when she was a pup and when did she loose that puppy coat. Also, how long did it take for yours to get full grown. Foxywench - thanks for the newfie info - I love newfies - so it would be cool if she had some of that in her too. Off the topic - so...

    Clipping nails

It also depends on the nail. My lab had dark black nails, almost immpossible to see vein. My new dog, the vein is very visible. Just depends. Definitely do the vet route or a groomer might be willing to show you what to look for if you pay them for the first cut.
