I find it disappointing the way Chaz members seem eager to go on a witch hunt these days. It's one thing to educate people and try to make the world a better place but HOW you do it should be just as important as the end result. It can be the difference between getting people to stop, listen and learn or running them off with their tail between their legs.
Almost every day that I log and there is someone making a snotty comment to another. Often for past mistakes. For things that should have been put in the past and left there.
Now people log on with pitchforks in hand and check to see what the latest drama is and who they can attack next.
It's disappointing. I'm not going to say that Chaz used to be better because it is what it has always been - a mass of people sharing a common interest. But the people who are here lately seem to be bitter. A lot of comments have been made about how hard people's lives are. I'm sorry there are so many people with problems but that doesn't mean that we should lash out at others.
There is no one on this forum who hasn't made a mistake. No one who hasn't blindly judged or misspoken. There is no one who hasn't tried to cover up a mistake because they were too embarrassed to fess up. No one who hasn't had a moment of cruelty.
How would you feel if people kept harping on your past actions. I doubt there is anyone on this forum who has a completely clean slate.
It's part of being human. So if you see someone heading out with their torches maybe stop and think about whether or not you really want to join in. If you 'catch' someone in a lie or making a mistake or heaven forbid not meeting your criteria of a good dog owner ... stop and think about how you want to deal with it.
Think about your actions, your goal and how you want to present yourself. Chaz is made up of new dog owners, old ones, people with different methods. It always has been and it always will. Do you want to spend your time being angry at people who don't think like you? Do you want people to understand your point of view?
I'm always so impressed at some of the members who do stick it out here despite how they have been treated in their past.
There is a lot of great members here and a lot of superb knowledge. I think that's how we should strive to present ourselves say ... 95% of the time.

It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.
