What do you collect, or are your hobbies?

Dried flowers, leaves, etc. My favorite are dried roses... but I gave them all away. Oh well, there will be more.

Also pillows.. those little throw pillows with the fun designs and stuff that you can buy just about anywhere? Anything within my price range that catches my eye comes home with me, so I have quite a few now. I'll post a pic later, lol. They've taken over the other side of this room.

I forgot to add hobbies. I um.. I paint and draw and read and post here. I also make tiny clay dragons of varying levels of attractiveness. I poke kittens. And, um, more, but that's more than enough.

I collect jewelry...........don't laugh, it's not a gold digger thing ;) I love jewelry, it doesn't have to be uber expensive, just tasteful. I also love to collect Gem stones by themselves............I have about 40 little viles containing various gems. Some day I will have time to place them into nice settings........until then I just take them out and ogle them now and again.

Kevin collects anything Pepsi. He has THE most hideous pepsi clock, the thing is around 30 inches wide & 20 inches tall.........it is mirrored to boot. He has had it since he was 10 or so, and has plenty of other things to go with it.............I have made him keep the crap in the office

I used to collect Cherished Teddie figurines. I hadnt gotten one for like 8 years and then for my birthday my son got my the romeo and juliet set

As for hobbies, I take pictures, bake and decorate cakes, and do digital art.

here are a few of my cakes.

I won an award with this cake. it was a decorating contest for the 4th of July... then they auctioned off the cakes and mine went for 60 dollars!

I collect those small, beaded, Hmong animals that you buy at craft fairs.

As for hobbies...running, animal rescue, ice skating (I used to compete, now I teach).

I collect model horses, I'm starting to collect dog collars (how can you just get one?), bandanas (for the dogs). . .and interesting gems and rocks.
My biggest collection, though, is books. I love books of all sorts.
Some hobbies are reading, writing, drawing, art projects (like collages and things), listening to music, playing guitar (though I don't do it consistently enough so I forget things and regress), and I'm really getting into photography.
I also love horseback riding- anything do with horses, really, and hiking and things like that. :D

And I really, really love learning. Anything. I devour books and look on the internet for random things and things that strike my fancy, I have lots of lists of vocabulary words, and on.

I collect angels . . . and then I paint them to look evil. It's not as morbid or satanic as it sounds, I swear!! I just have a fascination with making things the OPPOSITE of what they were originally intended to be . . . and making good into evil is possibly the most fun. :lol-sign:

These are my two favorites:

and my next victim

And I like to make random things into lamps. I have a GORGEOUS free-standing ash tray from the 50's that I made into a lamp, and I have a pair of legs that's waiting for me to have a free moment.

I also like to collect interesting pieces of furniture. I LOVE the flea market!!!

AND I collect dog collars. Wally has about 12 and Teeny's collection will begin once she's full grown. We're adding to the collection this weekend when we go to visit my friend who is a FANTASTIC collar maker!

ice skating (I used to compete, now I teach).

I'm so jealous!! I was a figure skater but injured my back pretty badly 7 years ago which ended my career. I taught a little but the risk of falling and hurting myself even worse kicked me off the ice again.

My chiropracter said he'll have me back on the ice in two years. YAY!!!

I don't really collect anything. As for hobbies though......

Photography, home repair, Karate, boxing, bird/insect watching (but that ties in with photography), poker, pool, darts, and probably a few other things that I'm not thinking of right at the moment.

I competed from about age twelve to about twenty-six. I've taught since I was twenty-three, twenty-four maybe...

I decided that competing was too time-consuming, and I was getting such joy out of other areas in my life that I felt that skating was getting pushed to the side...it wasn't as fun anymore...

Now I teach a class twice a week, and skate for fun...

Hey Coop I thought you would get a kick out of this. One of my many and I do mean many hobbies is collecting gem stones. Here is just a bit of my collection. Kids will be happy when I croak lol

Do you go to gem shows? A couple of friends of mine would go to a gem show, then go back later after the show was over and crawl around the carpet. (I guess the maintenance crews didn't care). Both of them have found quite a few gem stones that were dropped and forgotten.

I collect dog figurines (all breeds), mostly china - don't like the resin ones; books (St. Louis has a GREAT book fair every year - four days long); and cobalt glass.

Oooooooooooooooooooh Aussie, can I be adopted so I can wait for you to 'croak' too?? LOL.........J/K

I have most of what you have pictured.........not as many though. One thing I don't have is opals!! NONE....in jewelry or Gems.........My mom drilled it into my head growing up that buying opals for yourself is bad luck, and nobodly else has ever bought me one :(

No snark, I have never went to shows...........but I want to.
I would LOOOOOOOOOVE to go to the big Gem stone show they hold in Tuscon every year!! Maybe we can meet up there someday Aussie :D

you bet Coop and you know I have always heard that about opals but they are one of my favorite stones as are Rubies. I have a ton of Tanzanite I bought when the market was still low. Glad I did. One of those in there is a 4 carat one. lol. One of the square Rubies is 14.9 carat.
