Rode a friend's horse yesterday and took Dekka and Quest for some time in the country. Quest encountered a goat, and was much vexed. Dekka ran beside me my entire ride, much to the consternation of Timbit, the horse. He's an experienced show horse, but seemed creeped out by a constant little white shadow.

I wonder why goats are so interesting, and why Dekka can never figure out I am riding around and around and around the sand ring?

Met a lady at the park today with doppelganger Cobain and Rigby.
Rigby was in absolute heaven while Cobain...not so much.

Apparently the same jerk behaviours and mannerisms that Cobain likes to display are not so much appreciated when another dog does them to him

We were outside painting the windows and Hudson was running around being a nut case - like normal. We finish up with the windows, I look around, and Hudson is no where in site. Not to terribly strange, there are a few shaded areas he likes to lay in when it's really sunny out. I call, nothing. I call again, nothing. I start walking around the yard looking in the shaded areas "What if he got too hot? What if he got stuck in the forsythias? What if...." nothing. No where to be found. I put my shoes on and went one way, Ben put his shoes on and went another. Ben found him, he was making friends with the neighbor. Jerk dog has lost all 'running around like a loon' privileges for a long time.

Anyone want a black and white fuzzy dog?

Ugh I hate that Cajun can't just be good for nail trims, she's totally drunk and uncoordinated on her sedative. :( She didn't respond this way the first time, at all, but she was pretty amped up when I gave it to her then.

Her nails are at least cut now (but quicks are long so unsatisfying trim!) but I hate waiting for this to wear off.

Looks like I finally got my Air Bud (named my last dog after the movie dog, but she didn't even fetch), lol. I found this beach ball, threw it at Roxie and she passed it back to me!

What do you use to do it? A sedative from the vet? I've never heard of doing this. Neither of my dogs are any good with nail trimming, even though I have been playing with their feet and rewarding since I first got both of them as puppies/semi puppy.

She works at a vet, and I'm guessing does it at work?

I have sedated Frodo for nail trims before, and hated it. I'm so glad we are past that. I hope Cajun gets there too!

I'm able to do it at home, thankfully... she just gets oral acepromazine and alprazolam. We have quite a few clients who need it for their pets for nail trims but I don't think any of them do the trimming at home, lol they just sedate them and bring em on into the clinic! But it's totally something you could ask about. I still work on desensitizing but in the meantime.... she needs her nails clipped. And she just flails and struggles so bad without drugs.

I just hate that I have to plan it out and she can't do anything for a few hours afterwards. And since her quicks are long I should be trimming more often but I don't want to do this process any more than I have to!

Maisy's the same way. We've been working hard on it and I can get maybe a paw done at a time with the magical peanut butter spoon without drugs, but sometimes I just need to get them short and nail trims terrify her, always have. I think we're getting to the point where I can drop the ace and just use alprazolam, which will be better.

My Dog Walkies gear just got here and I LOVE IT. I've never had biothane before and am sooo happy with the service and how the leash and collar turned out.

Why is it that when I am actively seeking to add dogs to my team, there are none that fit? But when I'm not looking, there are a ton of awesome dogs looking for homes???

I just went and met another dud. I mean he was cute, happy, fun little dog, but absolutely no toy drive. I would have even taken him if he showed the tiniest bit of interest in the floppy disc, but he showed none. Nothing I could have even worked with.

My girls are getting over worked, we are down a trainer and they are having to pick up the slack right now. I really need to add something that can do shows sooner rather than later, quickly.

That's because all the dogs you want live in Australia. They are selfish and should fly them over here for you.

I'm sorry though! So frustrating, I hope you hit on a gold mine soon!

This is one I've followed for a long time, she's been in the shelter since 2012. I know, I know, she's in AL.

She looks great! A little on the large side for me and the food guarding is a big issue. I already have one guarder and I don't really want to add another to the pack. Thanks for the thought though!

Sending so many vibes that there is the right pup waiting for you!

Merlin ate a DOZEN CUPCAKES this evening if it makes you feel better you can have him! Grumble.
Now he's mad at me because I had to make him puke it up and didn't let him re-eat them.

SOMEONE who's name rhymes with BLOWIN' ate 10 timbits from the little sealed timbit box while my back was turned for the slightest second at our demo yesterday. Damnit dog, those were supposed to be for later. Also, those were supposed to be shared with ME.

Sorry, muffins happened in my house today and Wesley didn't eat any, it must have upset the balance of the universe and the food stealing spread out onto other unlikely dogs.

Found out that a Cardi breeder lives near me. I'm hoping they're a 'reputable' breeder but I have no idea. Overwhelmed by the the thought of being attacked by Corgi puppies. And trying to make sense of pedigrees.

Not planning on a dog anytime soon. Chaz has made me a planner.
