Talon, with his movement issues, decided to pull on the leash and in the process took two giant chunks of skin off his paw pads on his front paws. T_T Stupid dog didn't even show he was in pain until we got home and I noticed him licking his paws. Stupid dog also thinks going outside to run and play is a great idea.
Oh man :(

Rory ripped his dewclaw off once while herding... didn't even notice it until we were out of the pen and his foot was gushing blood. All he could concentrate on was getting back with the sheep and pulling on his lead to eat sheep poop.

Crazy Border Collies

I swear, I know so many dogs with foot injuries as of late! Feist cut her pawpads on some barnacles, and just got over it. So of course, the next thing that happens is I step on her foot and make her scream bloody murder.

Shout-out to Linds whose post a while back was the inspiration for this today:

I was trying to think of things I could give Cajun to do when she's at work with me, since so far she ignores toys, antlers, hooves, and her Everlasting treat ball when she's there. So when I was at the store buying a new Kong for her (because Happy, of all dogs, has destroyed 2 of them) and saw the chicken feet at the checkout counter, I thought AHA! :p I hope she loves it.

Also, I love when I'm at work and a co-worker comes to get me, "your mom's on the phone. Something about Cajun and a wasp and being stung internally..." What. Apparently Cajun tried to eat a wasp and then get stung, or maybe she did swallow it or something, because my mom thought it was stinging her from the inside because she would periodically start frantically chewing at her side. I said give her some Benadryl and calm down. =P

Things I love about Trent: he settles very well and adapts super quickly to being moved around.

Things I do not love today: alert barking. Yes Trent, we live in a house with 5 "strangers" now. Yes Trent, I know they're there. No Trent, the noises from the shared multiplex laundry room are not from a serial killer.

Oh, this looks awesome!!! Might have to try it, too.

Elsie snagged my hand while we were training the other day, and it's still so, so sore. I can bend my finger now, so that's a plus, but my whole hand is swollen.

Bitey dogs, I swear.

I feel your pain.

I have had constant scabs on my hands from healing puncture wounds for the last month, I swear. >.<

My Facebook has minimal friends IRL on it, so that cuts down on worrying about it. I know I'm lucky in that my family all love Feist and seeing pictures/videos of her, and are supportive of dog sports. It must be quite unpleasant to have someone close to you shooting down an important hobby/activity of yours. Personally, I like seeing the things people do on FB, outside of what I do, and my immediate interests. Like babies, keep on posting human babies, because those are cute lol. And if there are people that annoy me (not dog people obviously, never too many dog things) but I have to keep them as FB friends to prevent social meltdowns, the 'unfollow' button is a beautiful thing. But basically, if you're FB friends with me, you will be subjected to ridiculous amounts of pictures of my dog.
One of my sister's friends is friends with me on FB. When we were home in April, she made a few comments about I put up more pictures of Hudson than she does of her 2 children and how the bees would be a nice break from dog pictures. I believe that I managed to hold my tongue quite in that situation. And then immediately posted a few hundred pictures of the Sweet Boy.

If you don't want to see dog pictures, then unfriend me, or block my feeds from showing on your wall. I don't really care. Just don't be a jackass about it.

And you know, I don't get it really. I know I personally love seeing the pictures of peoples loves and hobbies, even if they aren't ones I share.

I have friends that do roller derby, are way into cars, tattoos, fiesta ware etc. I learn things, I enjoy the pictures and I like seeing the passion. Because of that, I have very little tolerance if they can't deal with my passion.

But something I've noticed, those people that DO have a big interest also seem to be the ones that enjoy my dog pictures.

I had a dream the other night with Happy and Kota in it. In the dream I wrapped my arms around Happy and just held him. Kota was poking around and Happy was just sitting there while I hugged him. And I thought to myself, "This is a dream. I should wake up, but I don't want to wake up, because I don't want this to end. I want to just stay here and hold Happy a little while longer."

I can't believe how much I still miss a dog who wasn't even really mine. It's been almost three years...

This is true. My coworker raises and sometimes shows his chickens, and also is big into motorcycles. He's not real interested in having dogs but I can almost "talk dogs" (at least about going to shows and stuff) with him, as can he with the chickens and motorcycles. I don't really care too much or know much about motorcycles, but I do enjoy the pictures and things he shares on FB.

I really love it when Kimma and Jari play because they have fun and zoom around and such, but why does most of the wrestling play ALWAYS have to happen next to me on the couch? Bitey faces + me right there = Jari nailed me on the arm. Ouch.

Oh man, I have dreams about Sally a lot still too and have almost that EXACT thing happen ('I know it's a dream but I don't want to wake up'). :( Then I'm sad all day long. I miss that dog like crazy. I can't even talk about her without choking up.

My dog is ridiculous.
OMG PUDDLES, this is after like 5-10 minutes of her running around before I finally got my phone recording.

But I can't be like "No Rigby, no puddles for you" She's SO happy. There's nothing being thrown or played with, she's just excited because of the puddles.

This dog does NOT get the typical "after bath zoomies", and hates swimming, but puddles are just everything to her.

I should have panned to Cobain who looked most unimpressed with this juvenile behaviour.

It grosses me out lol but she was like OMG WANT THIS. Next time I'll have to shove the chicken foot in their further to make it more difficult, she pretty much had it out and eaten in one chomp lol but she can be soooo lazy with her Kongs sometimes.

Juno and I were on our evening walk tonight and this guy and his dog were coming toward us. So I loaded my fist with treats and started shoving them in her mouth. Because she's a reactive jerkface. And as we pass each other he says to me "nice trick!" There is no trick involved, sir, I am just training lol.

Also, the Royal Canin Anallergenic diet must be laced with crack or something because Juno and Cajun LOVE IT and will do ANYTHING for it. We had like a 20lb bag of it at work that expired that we were going to toss, well shoot my dogs don't care if it's expired lol so I took it to use as treats. And I just keep it in my car. It is potent as heck (the bag is zipped shut and my car smells like it, really bad) and I don't know why because I think it's pretty much just corn starch. But they seriously are 100% focused when my pockets are filled with this junk.

Tango, who I used to have to sit with and coax into eating his special food (He hated HK really) Is now pretty sure that every time I go to the fridge it's time for him to eat. He's in love with Primal and is certain that he should have as much as his tiny heart desires because now he's willing to eat food.

If I go to the fridge and don't take out food to thaw, he still stares at it pointedly for a few minutes until I walk away and do something else.

I'm so glad he likes his food!
