Nothing like folding freshly washed pants... Feel something weird in the pocket... And pull out little dried-out-from-the-wash doggie treats. Yup, totally rocks.

Actually that wasn't sarcasm(well too much) bc dried out is WAY better than all crumbled up powder in your pocket. LOL.

I washed my vest with dog treats in the pocket. I was picking out grossness that glued the insides of my pockets together for months. It was disgusting.

Paris graduated from puppy class tonight! Little girl is growing up.
Congrats! Now, on to agility!!!!

What about an extra tall xpen? Will she chill maybe if you give her more space? I'm assuming they want her crated for destructive or "if I need to go down there I don't want to deal with a dog" issues? There are even indoor dog 'pens' that are more secure too.
They don't want her on the couch in the basement, so that's why she would have to be crated. Plus, she gets into trash if it's not picked up. I got them to allow Roxie to be upstairs in the house (instead of only being allowed in the basement), and so in return they want her to be crated in the basement when I'm not home.

I was going to build an indoor kennel, using the space under the stairs, but that's a no-go. I hadn't thought about an x-pen... that's a good suggestion :) I think she would do really great with an x-pen, actually. Maybe just attach it to her crate? I think that'd be a good idea. Then I can give her some food toys too, she would probably be really happy then!!

Idk how secure it would be though... Sometimes she gets a wild hair and has broken out of things (like the mudroom at my old house). Thanks for the idea! I'll see what I can do :)

Journey brag! As usual haha. But I can't help it. Journ's last Obedience class was tonight. Next week we will be on to drop ins with the same instructor for a while. Anyway, tonight they held a fun match for all of us in class and Journey won! Yay! It is just a fun thing and just class but I am so proud of her. We scored a 191 which is pretty awesome considering my nerves and inexperience. She is such a great girl in every way and such a wonderful sport intro dog for me. I couldn't love her more. We definitely have a few things to refine and work on but we are going to start trialing a bit this summer I think.

Cajun is signed up for an agility for fun class. Look out world.
The thought of this dog with ZERO body awareness doing something like the teeter or dog walk is hilarious to me. That's assuming she is less wimpy than Juno and will actually DO those obstacles. :) I feel like I can totally see her bulldozing her way over the a-frame... ungracefully.

Also, just once I would like my dogs to measure smack dab in the middle of sizing for something, so that I don't have to have any worries about whether or not it will fit. I ordered Surefit harnesses for Juno and Cajun. A medium is for girth measurements of 22-30. A large is 28-42. Both dogs measured at a 28. I figured to get a medium for Juno since she's kinda petite and certainly isn't going to grow anymore. I got a large for Cajun because at just shy of 1.5 years old, she's got some filling out potential. Her harness on the smallest size is still a titch too loose, so she better grow into it!! Juno's hasn't came yet but it should be fine. I just wish they could have measured at something that left NO question about what size they need

Cobain has been sick for the past few days.
I'm guessing it's from the pig foot that he and Rigby split on Monday. I don't know what is going on because he usually gets one every week or so. But this is the second time meat from this place has made him sick.

I took him to the vet this morning because he was just explosive, he vomited (which he never does), and was refusing water. The water was what concerned me most.

Subcutaneous water bolus, injection of an intestinal settler, sucralfate, and metronidazole. The first 2 were given on site, the second 2 will be administered later. And $160 later.

When we got home he promptly drank an entire bowl of water.
I know it's probably the medication, but it just makes me feel :wall:

I just... sent Trey's breeder an email. Wouldn't that be wild if I actually got in touch?

Oh HI. Remember me. You sold a dog to us like 18 years ago and are the person that first showed me agility. Well guess what, now I do agility! <--- :rofl1: That's pretty much my email.

The sheltie people at the show today acted like she was still around and also were all shocked that my family had a dog from her. Apparently she's kind of exclusive and a lot of the agility folk had wanted a dog from her but couldn't get one?
Yes. Yes. Get a Sheltie please. I've been having Sheltie want lately (I know, totally weird) so I can just live vicariously through you and Beanie :D
So... I actually heard back from Trey's breeder.:popcorn::popcorn:

I was just looking through some old photos of Cynder. I can't believe how much she's aged in the past few years. She doesn't look old now, but she looked a lot younger then.

This was 2011 (we had shaved her down with a #4, I think, earlier in the summer):

This is now:

She's not allowed to be old. :( She'll be 9 in January.

Also, I'm so proud of myself! Abrams actually enjoys getting his teeth brushed, and I've been remembering to do it at least every other day! Yay! He already started to get some staining on his back molars and the top of his canines, so I really want to keep at it. Here's hoping I continue to remember!

Trent has been rushed at/harassed by no less than SIX dogs within the week. It's not a huge surprise because the trail we walk goes past a dog park... but, still. Honestly though? I'm not as annoyed as I should be because with Trent, it's a great training opportunity and he's been very, very good. He does whine and pull and try to sniff noses and butts, but he'll walk away if I tell him too and has yet to lift a lip (not bad for a reactive dog!).

Today, though, he met a dog that was not as friendly and now we need a new collar.

And for the record, this was a large dog that was clearly not okay with other dogs, being walked on a flexi lead, by a lady who was also pushing a stroller. I don't understand how that could ever be a good idea.

At the dog park today a man PICKED MY DOG UP! Physically bent down & picked up a strange dog. How is that EVER a good idea?!

I didn't even apologize when Crossbone eventually flailed and snapped at the guy.

Y'all should try having toy dogs. This happens all. the. time. I once had a stranger not only pick Mia up without warning but she shoved Mia into her face and start kissing all over. I'm still shocked Mia did not bite her nose or pee on her. She had this WTF look of horror on her face.

People want to hold or carry my dogs all the time. I'd bet at least 1/5 people encounters they either try or ask to hold them.

The above posts are why I like to be a hermit with my dogs and avoid areas with people and other dogs when at all possible. Such stupidity gets on my nerves.

I cant even imagine picking up someone else's dog without permission (or an obvious want from the dog;) )

My problem tends to be people picking up their little dogs and holding them out to my danes! I mean yes, my dogs are for the most part friendly but dont go holding a dog out like a toy or treat to them!

We were walking down a path in an offleash spot today and met a lady coming in the opposite direction with a bichon. She asked if Venice was friendly. I said yes.

Venice gave a little air-sniff at her dog as she walked past but wasn't interested in stopping to greet. She smiled and wiggled at the woman and kept on going by. Woman looks at me bitterly and says "not so friendly after all."

What?

Hah. I get that with Ezra all the time. Yes, he's friendly. No, he doesn't really care about you or your dog, sorry. Or if we're stationary, they try desperately to get the 'pretty striped one' to like them while he's content standing by me ignoring the cooing and coaxing.
