Daisy and I would like to come. :)

Benji will have to stay home, he can be a butthead with other dogs (nolu can attest to that), and I never know which dogs he's going to like and which he isn't.

Rumor and I will most likely be in attendance, depending on the date.

As well as Ryan. (Which makes him seem like an afterthought. Blah blah, complain complain.)

OMG ROFL. I still crack up when I remember the faces he made.

I emailed the canine country club asking for more information and if they might be able to accomodate a group like us. Just waiting on a response from them... *twiddling my thumbs*

Alrighty, I think this place might work out well. I got a response from the canine country club. Here's is what they said.
Hello Amber,

Wow! What a cool site! We have something similar for our members (although not NEARLY so pretty!).

Lots and availability

Riding Arena- Saturdays 10am-11pm, Sundays 10am-11pm- 0.25 acre pen with soft crushed blue stone surface; this pen has lights
Cost- $37.50 per hour

0.5 acre- Saturdays 1pm-11pm, Sundays 1pm-11pm- 50% flat/50% hilly with a patch of woods; this pen has lights
Cost- $50.00 per hour

4 acres- Saturdays 1pm-dark, Sundays 3pm-dark- 25% flat/75% hilly; trees around the perimeter; L-shaped
Cost- $75.00 per hour

5 acres- Saturdays 1pm-dark, Sundays 1pm-dark- Flat; trees around the perimeter; squarish
Cost-$125.00 per hour

Because you would be renting your own space, you may set your own rules; however, all guests must sign a waiver for us.

There are dog-friendly hotels and bed & breakfasts nearby as well in Leesburg, Ashburn, and Sterling.

Our mission is to spearhead a high volume spay neuter clinic in our area (see our OUTREACH page). In April 2007, we held a fundraiser/grand opening--The First Annual Canine Country Jamboree--which benefited The Northern Virginia Spay Neuter Alliance and Clinic (pics on EVENTS page at bottom). For this year's Jamboree, we are deciding between June and October.

But first, we must make sure that we achieve long-term financial stability! Once we are there, the sky is the limit!

I didn't know there was a dog park there...... I'm in Ashburn regularly.. *feels dumb* I'll go check it out so we can figure out what size of an area would be best.. but WOW at the price tag. I'd think we would want to stay for at least a couple hours, so we'll all have to chip in 10-20 bucks... it could be even more than that depending on whether or not some of us don't go, the size of the area, etc etc.

I'm coming and bringing my camera! :D

The canine country club sounds like a great idea! It would ensure that it would only be us and that we wouldn't be trampling on other people. The price shouldn't be too bad as long as everyone chips in. I'm sure we won't need that much space, lol. You could lose people on 5 acres. :p I like the half acre idea, and the price isn't too bad.

That gets my vote.

Well, if everyone is up for it I can talk to her more about it. We can maybe do like 2 or 3 hours... what does everyone prefer???

Also, is there any fields you prefer? The 4 acres would prob be fine but i think with the 5 acre it would be easier to keep an eye on the dogs since it's more square and flat...

anyone have any ideas?

5 acres is gigantic. I think that's more space and money than we need. A full size football field with end zones is 1.3 acres, and that seems huge to me. I'm fine with whatever size people want though, I'm only one opinion. :)

5 acres isn't THAT much, lol... we have 12.. you can see it all from one spot. :) But yes, I agree, it's more space (and wayyy more money) than we need.

I think the .5 acre will be just right.

I think 5 acres would probably be too big, and not worth the extra money that we would have to pay.

Honestly, I think the .5 one might work the best. I've seen 10 dogs run around a minor league baseball field fine...
