This is one of my favorite places. The dogs have to be screened for their behavior first though so that's the only issue when we're just doing one meetup. I'm not sure how long the screening process is, but I like that they screen. Not sure if they have breed restrictions. Haven't looked. If they do then nix that one and I'll keep my eye out for more ideas. One of my friends is friends with the people that own this place so I could talk to them about the idea of possibly using one of the fields?

I'd be out if it was in NC. VA is far enough for me.

When I was in DC with Rah for a week, there were NO parks in DC proper itself that were worth visiting - you have to look outside DC itself. the only one worth visiting is th eunofficial one in the cemetery.
That's why I said near DC. I can't imagine there being much of anything that isn't crowded in DC.

north carolina is a no way for me. DC/Virginia/Maryland is far to begin with. But i'll probably do the northeast meetup so it's okay.

Sounds like NC is out.

This however, sounds like a great idea! IF you could look into it some more .. . we might not have to all join, if we can work out a rental for a day. It might not be cheap, but it might well be possible. Can you get in contact and if they interested, send me the info?

Sure I'll do that. I'm not sure if they rent out... but they have such a big piece of property that I don't see why they couldn't. I'll talk to my source and see if this is possible and let you know.

What about one of those events they list . . . like the big medium dog meet up? We don't have any 'small' dogs in this group do we?

They seem to host meet ups on occasion too . . . are we a meet up?

In any case, as soon as things calm down at work, I think I will hit one of thier open houses . . .this place looks like fun!

I'll call them and ask them about the meet ups. I know a few people that go to this place and they say it's an extremely nice facility for dogs. I think they even have some picnic benches... I'm not sure if a potluck would be out of the question or not. Might be hard with a bunch of dogs, but we'll see. I was actually just on the phone with the lady I know who knows the owners and I forgot to bring it up with her. I'll either email her about it asap or give her a call later on. I should even see her at some point this week since she's dating Brendan's dad.

We're a meetup, and Milo's "small" i guess, well, 17 pounds, but he won't DEFINATELY be coming, anyway. He could stay home if he's too lil.

I'll double check with them. I sent an email to my contact today and waiting for a response from her. I'm also going to probably send an email to their main office as well. Lilavati, you should totally check it out in person... it's a really neat place.

You said Milo was about 17lbs right?

and with Mollie being 12lbs I'm just going to tell them that our smallest dog is 12lbs. I'm trying to get an idea of how this is all going to work. I think it would be amazing if we could get them to agree to rent some space to us and maybe use a portion of the cost to support rescues... wonder if they'd agree... who knows?
