At least you know she'd feed them.
Yea, like a pound each! I have to pre-measure whenever I'm not going to be there.
It was also her job to feed Inky when he got sick, what does that tell you?

When I left for a few days I came back to a bag of bones with NO muscle tone or fat whatsoever. She had fed him 1 cup a day... ugh.

God that sucks, Lauren. (((HUGS for Inky)))

Poor Middie :(
What I do is premeasure everything in ziploc baggies, maybe you could try that next time?

I didn't even think about it before, but Inky now only eats wet food (which makes my mom gag) and he has to be fed 3 times a day...this could be a problem...

if you go for overnight...you'd be able to feed him in the morning, and then Mom would only have to feed him twice more that day and once the next morning, maybeee the next afternoon depending on how long it takes. I'm sure she could hold her breath for two days :D

I'd probably cut the wet food, put them in baggies, and call and annoy her until she does it, lol. For the afternoon and night feedings I may just ask my little sister to do it, I'd def. have to call to make sure she does it, but I think she'd be more willing...

I would like to come but don't know if I could get away. I also have a trip planned for the end of March. So I don't know.

How far is this from everyone? I've never been there, but it looks nice. http://www.hocodog.org/

That's what I was going to suggest, but I thought it would be more polite to do so in a PM.. yeeeeesh Caitlin. :p

OT: Emma wont stay out of my cupcakes.. grrr
Hehe. :D I wanna come!

(As for Emma, one of my parents' cats would not stay out of my buffalo wings last night. She ate them. And my alfredo chicken pizza.)

When I left for a few days I came back to a bag of bones with NO muscle tone or fat whatsoever. She had fed him 1 cup a day... ugh.
I've left Rumor with my parents and returned to a fatosaurus. It looked like she had gotten 50 cups a day and no exercise.

Caitlin, that park looks like it might be kind of hard to get into...i don't know if you need to live in the area or not, but it says you need "a valid dog license from the county of residence"....

also, up here we have a couple of places, indoor and outdoor, where you can basically rent for a few hours for a "doggy party". They've got agility equipment and some other stuff for the dogs to play with. If you have many places like that down there, i don't know how much it would cost to rent a place like that, but if a bunch of us go and split it i don't think it would be too bad.

I want to find a place like that, Alex. That would be AWESOME.

As for Caitlin's...

1. Maximum of two dogs per handler. Dog handlers must be 18 years or older.
7. All dogs must be licensed and vaccinated and handlers shall have proof of each.
Ummm. Middie would have to go in the park with someone else...? I'm not 18 yet.

As for the vaccination.. does that mean we need to bring proof of their vaccinations (for what?) or will dog tags do..? ETA:

But you do have to provide a copy of a valid license and rabies vaccination from your county of residence in order to get a permit for the park. Daily permit users will also have to have proof of rabies and license in their possession while they are at the park.

Also, we can't bring any food or drinks except water in a plastic bottle into the park.

I think that means they have to have a license from the county in which you reside. If it's for Howard County residents only, that excludes me. I'm up in Harford County. I think proof of vaccinations would probably be satisfied with a rabies tag, but I don't really know for sure.

milos mommy, that would be great! I'm sure there's places like that we can find down near DC.

Instead of a dog park...

If anyone is interested in coming to NC, I have a HUGE back yard that we could all let the doggies romp in :D

Actually, that's not a bad idea, but it might be a bit far for the MD/PA people . . . Where in NC?

The Howard dog park looks ok . . . but it looks like it might have problems of its own . . . the ones in VA seem much more laid back. But if one of the Maryalnders wants to check it out, please do! I'll keep patroling VA.

I don't have any right now . . . Sort of waiting to see what Angel Chicken says and if our more Northern people are willing to go that far South . . .

I'd be up for something in MD or possibly NOVA, but NC is too far.

NC would be a little too far unless I carpooled with someone... and it would have to be on a weekend because of my work schedule. My preference is NOVA... but of course I would say that since I live here.

Maybe we could try and get a headcount of who all is planning on going and then work from there? We can see where everyone is coming from first? Of course we should still keep thinking of locations that would work.

When I was in DC with Rah for a week, there were NO parks in DC proper itself that were worth visiting - you have to look outside DC itself. the only one worth visiting is th eunofficial one in the cemetery.
