I am really sure that if you came onto the property of a Fila uninvited, the dog would just prance up to you with a soft mouth and gently lead by the hand off of the property. Whatever u say. :lol-sign:
Despite whatever you might think, I'm not stupid. If I know there is a dog on a property that isn't contained in the house or on a leash, I wait for the owners to come escort me from my car, be a yappy little ankle-biter, Fila or Labrador. Anyone who has an ounce of brains in their heads know that you just do not prance onto someone's property and not expect something. The first time I met Kharma, as much as I wanted to run up and give Renee a hug, I waited until we were all in the brightly lit house instead of out on the dark driveway, because again, I'm not an idiot. Then I let Kharma make her own decision about me and we became good friends. I've seen little bits and hints of the extreme speed, agility and power that is a Fila and I've no wish what so ever to be on the wrong end of it. Getting cornered by a dog is getting cornered by a dog and given the fact that every Fila over the age of 8 months outweighs me, they probably wouldn't so much as lead me off as pick me up ala the bouncer's "bum rush".
Who here is denying these dogs are guard dogs? Not one person. What we are denying is that they are attack dogs on steriods that will disembowel someone as soon as look at them. If your dog cannot distinguish between a true threat and Aunt Sally sitting in the parlor who just sneezed, then shame on you for raising your dog with poor comprehensive skills.
I also just keep coming back to the whole name of the Fila, which translates to "TO HOLD". They didn't call the dog the Matador "Killer" now did they?
