So I've got a job interview in an hour and a half. I really want it, because I've just been outsourced at my current job :( Our whole department is being obliterated.
I really need a change of scenery, and I'd love a job where I'm not on the phone all day long!!

Wish me luck!!

So they offered me the job on the spot....but such a lowball salary that I turned it down.
I'm currently making 39000 at my job....they offered 9.50 an hour.
They must think I'm crazy...
It was insulting.

That sucks! people really try to go cheap dont they? You know what they say though...You get what you pay for!
owning my own business cleaning businesses and a few homes it was hard to find good help and I payed well for the job. 10-12 an hour.
Jim just hired a new guy who is learning on the job and he is making 10 an hour and an occasional bonus which is decent here cause labor workers for construction often only make minimun wage.
WE know that you get what you pay for.

You want to hear something sad, Tina . . . $39,000 is more than an experience paralegal usually makes here . . .

Really . . . and very seldom are there any benefits . . . no retirement plan, no insurance . . . Even if you take a few days off you get calls from the office . . .

I just had a thought, Tina. If enough of you are are losing your jobs, or if the outsourcing is going overseas, you may qualify for assistance with education or re-training under federal law.
