I just broke my iPhone. :cry: :cry: :cry:

I was taking it out of it's case, fumbled, and dropped it. It just landed flat on the floor, and the screen shattered.

I only have ten minutes of work left. Which is good, because it's taking all I have not to burst into tears right now.

I know it's just a phone, but still. I have worked so hard to take good care of this phone, and yet I am still enough of klutz that I broke it.


Oh, and I wish this was an April Fool's Joke, but I swear it isn't.

I've dropped my iphone several times and have been pretty lucky I guess.

Also, for those asking about insurance - it's not possible. The typical phone insurance offered doesn't cover an iphone.

Yeah, the warranty for an iphone does not cover drops or any kind of abuse, just things like software crashes or manufacturing errors. They have a replacement plan but it sill is just about the cost of a new phone.

Anyway yeah, my wife is devastated, and as is the case when my wife is upset, I was upset. What can I say, I go into this stupid kind of hypnotic zone when she is upset and can't rest till she is happy again. It is a good thing she does not abuse this ability because really, she can get me to do just about anything.

So anyway, she has a brand new phone and I don't have to worry about having too much space on my credit card any more. I am chalking it up to an April Fools joke.

"Hey, I know what would really fool Jon, if I throw my phone against the side of the house!!"

"Yay!!!! Guess what honey! Get your wallet!"

Anyways, a moment of silence for her old phone, but she is back in business (with a nice protective case for her new one).

Yes, I have a new iPhone now.

I will miss you, old iPhone, with all your settings exactly the way I liked them, but that I now can't remember how they were. Going to take some getting used to.

The new phone (with it's PROTECTIVE CASE!) is very nice! It has a screen and everything! :rofl1:

I still feel pretty bad for breaking the last one, though.

so the Applecare protection plan doesn't cover dropping the phone? That's the only insurance plan I know of for the iphone... I would think it would cover accidents, considering how much it costs.
