I guess the first pets i was exposed to were my brothers' horses back when i was a baby. There's pictures of me "riding" them when I was like 2. The first pet *I* had was a lhasa apso I picked out at a petstore when I was 3.

When my mom bought the dog to be known as Ruffy, she was told it was a "cockapoo" but when we took Ruffy to the vet for her shots the vet took one look at her and said "Noooo... this is a lhasa apso - pure bred from the looks of her."

Ruffy lived with us until she ran away in a thunderstorm -- when i was about 7. I still miss her sometimes. :(

A black Sher-Pei named Coaling aka Coal. She was my brothers puppy and she was around before I was born so we kind of grew up together. We then had a number of mutts, a couple huskies, a Great Dane, Dalmations, and a poodle. Not to mention all our cats, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, horses, and fish.

Scob... that's sad... I think every family should have a dog. It teaches kids so much when they have a pet.

Bitsy a golden, she was awesome. My parents had her either before I was born, or got her soon after because we kinda grew up together. But the first pet that I actually had to take care of myself was a goldfish, which I accidentally killed soon after we got it because I didn't realize I was feeding it too much. oops...
