Ok, Emily's hair is starting to get a little annoying to her. I don't want to cut it because I want to wait until she's a little older to cut her hair. Her bangs keep getting in her eyes and she has to keep pushing them away. I tried clipping them with a clip and she pulls it out. I have to admit my mom never did anything to my hair and never taught me how to fix my hair (I'm a complete tomboy and never had any ambition to learn). I can sort of pull her hair into a ponytail on top of her head but than she pulls that out and I have to keep doing it over and yelling at her to leave it alone. Does anyone know what else I can do to her hair besides pulling it up and clipping it, I think it doesn't look right when I do it but everyone says she looks cute.

Maybe you could try braiding it, but I'm not sure if that would keep her bangs out of her face if they are very short. Maybe let her bangs grow out?

Yes Yes.. let her bangs grow out :)

How about a head band.. are her bangs long enough to stay back in one?

lol you are a nice mom...my mom chopped mine off so i looked like a little boy. You could always give her a cute short hair cut if she gets annoyed with her own hair. All in all, the short hair didnt have any damaging psychological effects on me, so yeah...

if you dont want to cut it...definately let the bangs grow out!

I'm definetely trying to let the bangs grow long, which is why I don't want it cut. The bangs are long enough yet to be able to do a head band, last time I tried they weren't I should try agian. They can be clipped back but she keeps pulling it out.

How about a headband? You could clip up the bangs, and then put a headband over the clip. That way, she would possibly forget that the clip is in her hair.

What sort of dog is she?

When I first starting doing topknots I found immediatly distracting Scrappy worked ie taking him straight out for a walk or just playing fetch was enough. At first I just kept redoing them and even left them in at night and before long he accepted the topknot as part of him.

Hope I have helped you!

Instead of a traditional head band my girls like the cloth bands that go fully around the head.

I always snipped bangs, then Stef lived in braids (sometimes looking like Pippi Longstocking..poor child) for years. :)

Well I tried headbands today (we have the kind that go all the way around her head). Her bangs fall out from the headband. I really don't want to cut her bangs, I want them to grow out but I may have to if they keep bothering her. I have them clipped back now and keep yelling at her to leave the clips in but the poor little girl is miserable with her hair clipped up.

Put a little bit of gel or hairspray on your hand and smooth her hair back, then it should stay out of her eyes, and you don't have to worry about the choking hazard from barrettes and stuff :)
