This. And "hold your horses". Probably also "shut up" hissed quietly so my child doesn't hear my rude language.

I swear he is auditioning to be a speed bump the way he just plops his butt down in doorways, the middle of the floor, etc.

One of the most common things I say to my dog especially in the morning upon seeing him outside my room is " Hello! Baby Trever, how are you? Good morning! " Aside from that, when he has done something good then I said " That's very good!"
