Home made diets inccreases the lifespan of your dog by 134%

Home made diets are important in the dog feeding. Many a times, the commercial diets consist of food items that have artificial coloring agents and flavoring agents that are harmful to the dog's body. Home made food items have the guarantee of freshness in the preparation unlike the ready-made commercial items.

The preservatives added in the commercial food items may not be the suitable ones to the dogs from the health point of view. Even in case of renal diseases in dogs, the home made diets may be made with ground beef, slices of bread, calcium carbonate, boiled eggs etc.
 so you mean my dog could live to be 26?!?!?! Wow... uhh... no? :rofl1: 134% of 11 is like.. 26, yet she's still living, so it would be older.

I feed Taste Of The Wild, Bison Flavor. Absolutely NO GRAINS at all, dogs do very well on it also. Had been Using Pro Plan Shredded Chicken N Rice until they started stalking this new feed, expensive for 8 Shepherds, but worth it.

My girls rotate between TOTW and EVO RM, with the occasional raw. When I can get a separate freezer I'll feed them primarily raw.

I wish TOTW came in larger bags. I have only seen I think 30lb bags. For 8 dogs, it wouldn't go very far.

We're currently feeding Acana Grasslands .

We did feed Taste of The Wild for a while and our dogs did very well on it but we decided to try the Acana on day and our dogs have done so well on it . Their coats of soft and shiny , they have firm stools and they absolutely love it . It's the same price as TOW and is made from human grade ingredients .

I'm currently feeding Orijen for one, and a new food I picked up this weekend called Summit for the other one, as his stomache is no longer cooperating with the high protein/fat Orijen.

I've fed Natures Variety Instinct, Taste of the Wild, Blue Buffalo, Blue Buffalo Wilderness, Nutro and a few others and on every one of them Ozzy had terrible gas. He loves to eat, so I can't judge them by how willing he was to eat them, but now that were on Natural Balance Limited Ingredients and the Allergen free formual, both without grains and sugars he's doing wonderfully.

And becuase I read somewhere about sugars feeding ear infections I keep away from sweet potato, and Enzos ear infections/yeast problems have gone away. As well as Ozzys.

I really like this food and we switch between the two and the change doesn't upset them at all. Though they do have cast iron stomachs...

Ruckus has never wanted to eat a natural food. and used to keep upset stomach while he was on them. just didnt do well at all! so he is on Iams Healthy Naturals and so far doing better than ever! i have had him on multiple natural foods, and even raw diet, but for some reason it just wasnt working for him.

Lynn eats TOTW and i alternate the formula between all three i have at the feed mill down the road
