Oreo's name is the name from her first owner so she gets to keep it. For our shnauzer her registered name is MacKenzy's Rose VonShnauzen. ( the last name is from the breeder, for the line name) and we call her Kenzy. We chose Kenzy because it wasn't purely female nor male. And while she is a girl she also has a beard and mustache.
When we had our Dachshund we named her cinnamon to go with the spice theme that we had with our dachshunds before. My first doxie was named Ginger. and I named cinnamon because I always knew that I would get another red doxie. so it fit.
if we get another dog someday and it is male his name will be Brian ( for family guy) or George if it is another shnauzer. when we were living in San Diego we saw a mini schnauzer at a pet store and asked how old he was and they said Oh George, he is blah blah blah. and I was like how sad he has a name. And we always said that our male mini schnauzer would be named george.

I love coconuts, and I always dreamed of getting a pug, so when my mom finally agreed to buy me a pug in the summer, I spent the entire spring dreaming of a pug named Coconut. on his papers, he's written down as Coconut, but I call him Coco unless he's in trouble.

Teddy got his name because of, you guessed it, Jose Theodore. So, not only do I have to endure 4 posters of him, the thread here SHE started about HIM our dog will also never let me forget that I am the "2nd" man in Tanya's life. LOL

;)

J/K, I love you baby. :p

I got my little Corgi a couple of years ago and couldn't think of anything good to name her. Eventually, I went thru all of my favorite Anime and Video Games picking out some of my favorite girl names. I believe the choices eventually came down to:
Kairi (Kingdom Hearts)
Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo!)
Sasami (Tenchi Muyo!)

My ultimate plan was writing each name on a slip of paper, putting them in my pocket ... and going to work. On break, I shoved my hand in my pocket ... shuffled ... and picked. Now, we have Kairi! Now when I think about it, the other names just don't seem like they would have fit at all.

My other dog was much easier. Her coat looked like it was just patches of different colors here and there, so Patches. :D

Lets see...I think I've done this before but here I go again :) :

Sunny just reminded us of a little ray of sunshine , so happy and pale blonde and cute, so Sunny he was named.

Stormy was because we wanted a name to fit with our weather theme and nothing else seemed to fit.
