What did you name your dog and why?

Ok anyway I was interested to see why people name their dogs what it is.

I named my dog Charlie, because my friend's beagle's name is Snoopy, and THEIR friend's dog's name is Woodstock.

Toka. I was slightly obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was younger, and thought Tokka was an awesome dog name. (yes I spell it wrong)

Most people don't get the reference. It was in the second movie, the giant snapping turtle.

I think I might name my next dog Zeda or Zeta. Always liked that name too. Maybe even Zelda. We did have a dog named Zenda for many years.

I named Harley because the breeders house was right beside a Harley-Davidson dealership, I named Vixen because my neice insisted on it and Sirius is the dog constellation, I named blue because, well, he came with the name and my old boxer had her name, Tessa before I was born.

Peanut got her name from her previous family that dropped her off at the shelter. I just kept it because it fit.lol

JLF's YukonDreamingAlaska is his registered name and we had either Alaska or Yukon picked out and Alaska seemed kind of girlish so we went with Yukon!

Well, as much as I don't see anything wrong with MY name of choice for our dog, Digby, I let the kids have final pick. So our short, stubby little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel can have illusions of granduer, he was named after a basketball player, Quincy something or other. His registered name is much too long and pretty, I only call him that when he's in trouble.

Zeus, because our previous dog was Odin, and my husband wanted to keep to a theme.

My first dog was a golden retriever, his registerd name was Gibson's Golden Boy, but I called him Brandon. When I was young there was a tv show and a cartoon called Punky Brewster, my fav., and she had a golden named Brandon, so I copied her!

My boxer's registerd name is Ike Tee Junior after his parents. Ike Blane Lane and Tilly Tinkerbell Tee. But we just call him Ike, a lot of the times Ike-ee Poo.

Joey I named Joey because I am Obsessed with Freinds and I love Joey Tribbianni!!!

Mitzi - is a rescue and is 7 years old, she has had that name all her life, so i kept is as it is because she knows it

My husband said Princess is such a little Princess, that will be her name. Ha, not a princess at all.
My daughter was helping me find the right name for Gracie, one day she came over saying "Gracie!", I liked it.

Ok I named Nalla after of course the lion king. I had peks their names were mufacia (ooh say it again mufacia mufacia mufacia) one named bella after belle on Beauty and the beast. Izzy B is short for Isabella since my daughter wouldnt name my grand daughter that I decided to name my baby that.

I wanted to call her Bell but it didn't fit very well it sounded too serious so i just put Belly and it sounded much more fun! And it fit really well, you should have seen the size of her potbelly when she got here! Her registered name is Belly Anamel Short and simple, her name and the kenne's name

Pashka was named Pashka I don't know simpley because i liked that named and thought it suited her breed (Siberian Husky). Trust me she was lucky my dad wanted me to named her shadow or holly. Not that those names airn't good its just their typical.

Pixie i wanted to name Pixie Stick because im a weird person and thought it would be funny. And sort of like naming a large male dog Tiny lol.

Well the shelter we got Colby from had staff that liked the Wisconsin Packers, and they had just won a game, so when they found Colby, they decided to call her Cheesehead (because Packers fans are cheeseheads). We decided to add Colby so her full name would be Colby Cheesehead. And the funny thing is, she really looks like the colby cheese you can buy in the grocery store!!

We wanted a spring name, so we called the chocolate lab we had just found Mayberry.

My sister Lennea and I just thought Tippy was a cute name...plus she has a white tip on her tail.

I knew Rocky was going to be a big male German shepherd. And I at the time, I had been watching the Rocky movies- about the boxer. I'm somewhat of a kickboxer myself and so I was like, "That's perfect- Rocky!"

It was amazingly close to being Max- but it's the number 1 male dog name in the United States, I wanted something original, lol. Even though Rocky ranks number 6.

registered name is Circle W Dallas
Circle W came from my dad and I farm and Dallas because I like that name and I thought Texas was a cool looking state..but instead of Texas I said what about Dallas. So yes that is how Dallas got his name LOL

my oldest dog Rocco is named after Madonnas son.. and the baby kept her old name Quira cuz i dint want to confuse her ( lol ) but i wanted to name her Lourdes ( Lola ) after madonnas daughter.. oh well mayB next pup.

quigley got his name because i wanted him to have a somewhat unique name that fits his unique look.

the poor guy was nameless for two days after he came home since i couldn't think of something right away. eventually i decided to name him after the character matthew quigley from the movie quigley down under.
