Hello all,
My name is Sandi and Frankie is my 3 mo old min poodle.Of course, he is
adorable! He is a red head! Beautiful color...natural too.
Well here is my question? Can I give him a little scrambled egg whites mixed
with his reg kibbles for breakfast? Maybe a little boiled chicken mixed in with
his kibbles with a little water to make a little gravy? I don't want to give
the runs!!!!!!! Maybe a little rice???

Thank you for your help, will have more questions I'm sure.

Welcome! I'm not sure of the answer to the eggs, but try putting your question in the Dog Food & Recipes section so it will be noticed.

Hello.

Welcome.

I've never had a problem feeding egg and I do quite frequently. But there are other people on this forum that know a LOT more about food than I. :D

Eggs once in a while or chicken won't go amiss, so long as it's not the bulk of their meal. I've given Jake some scrambled eggs but it didn't amount to much more than a snack. He had no trouble with it. Likewise, we had turkey the other night and instead of using kibble for training treats, I had Jake working for the meat. Again, not a full meal's worth by any standard, but a little bit of a taster. There's been no ill side effects from either - or even small amounts of ground beef which were taken before the taco sauce was added last night.

The eggs - in moderation - are actually good for them. Use the whole egg, not just the white. Chicken is good. Another good addition is a spoon of yoghurt; just make sure it's got the active cultures. I'd skip the rice though. Very little nutrition for a dog and hard to digest.

marydog agrees that yogurt is very good for old women..especially those with a sour stomach!!!! she says Renee is very right about that indeed!
