Oh that's good! :) Everyone here seems very pleased with them, and i sure love the look of them! plus my current lead wrecks my hand a bit...

I love that 'sinister' rope you posted a pic of earlier in this thread... which leads allow you to use this rope?

I'm interested in purchasing one, now that i gotta bit of money for my 17th (woo!), but I'm not sure what rope would be suitable...
My dog Matisse is medium sized, but quite strong for his size, and like i said earlier, pulls a heck of a lot (although we are trying to stop this).
There's pics of him in a thread i posted yesterday ["Matisse & Harvey 'Show & Tell' ze pictures" currently on the 2nd page in general dog chat] to give you a better idea...

could i ask, what kind of lead would you suggest? just for a general walking lead, only to be attached to his collar.

He's such a furball cutie!

I think a 3/8" nylon double braid lead would be fine for him.:D
What kind of collar do you use on him?

I have to express my total love for my leashes now; I've got a pair of the Marrie's.

The handles were the perfect size and weight to loop over knobs today to "hold" the dogs while I was taking pictures, easy enough to hold for long periods of time as we walked AND I discovered that the clip is just the right size to clip onto the latch of the rear door on my RAV. This is going to come in amazingly handy this summer...heck even now since I take the dogs pretty much everywhere with me. Virgo has developed a habit of wanting to take a quick lap around anywhere we're at, which poses obvious problems. Now I can just reach in, grab the leash and clip it, load the car like I need to without her jerking on me and then load her back up in a flash!

I'm totally hopping onto this bandwagon. I already know what leads I want... but have to wait until I have a little extra money for them.

Guess what I got today................ No guesses? I got my 6ft Marri's lead. Woohooo! I think it is a little on the heavy side, but I think that also helps all parties realize that there IS a lead on. Plus when I add another dog, that one will most likely be bigger than Mr Django. ( Then again, who isn't?) That will give me an excuse to order a smaller one. I accidentally ordered an extro O ring on the body of the lead, but I think that might be better, because it can be a slip lead AND a tether simultaneously. I will take pictures soon.

Yes, the weight does take some getting used to, but once you're used to it, you enjoy the security of it. :D Also, if you decide in the future that you want another one, but you don't want the weight, you can get one of the small leads.:D

We have a pink rope that is a really small 3/8" that could be made. I'm calling my supplier this morning and I have to order some 5/16" MFP utility rope. If there is anything specific you are looking for, let me know.:D

Rebecca! I have a "project" that I need your help with!

I want to make custom "seatbelt" leads for the car - the dogs have their Roadie harnesses, but no way to hook them in. I have childseat attachments in my car that a leash clip - even a big one - fits in perfectly. The childseat attachments are located above the backseat, which is why I want to use them to lash the dogs in, as hooking them to the hooks near the seatbelt clips lead to tangling, and dogs strddling seatbelts and getting wound aroudn their legs. They need to be attached at "eye level" to avoid tangling.

What I'm looking for is something about 12" long - SUPER STRONG ROPE (like the Rappel rope... Sinister would match the harnesses) - with a bullsnap on one end and a "loop" on the other that a big carribeaner could go through, to attach to the harnesses.

Here's my idea, as illustrated in 90 seconds in Microsoft Paint:

If this is possible... how much do you think something like this would cost? I can't find anything else that WORKS, and I think this type of thing would be perfect. :D

SCRATCH THE BULLSNAP! I think, Ben/Rebecca, that it might be too "topheavy" to fit the childseat clips... the twist 'n' lock snap would probably work MUCH better!

Okay here's my childseat clip:

And here's the big brass trigger clip hooked to it... it's on my penny lane lead, if you remember the clip size...

If you don't think it would fit... do you think your biggest, springest trigger clip is strong enough to hold a lot of weight and pressure?

Ok, Here's what we'll do:
If you post exact lengths (is 12" the length you need?) from snap to where you need it to latch to your dog, we will set up a product page and I'll PM you and link you to it.

Sorry, I did not see this last night. I passed out early.:D

Yep, 12" is the length I'll need! I get paid on Tuesday, so I'll order then! Do you think it'll work, Rebecca?

:D And don't worry about not seeign this last night - I was up LATE last night, and had this idea pretty late. I don't expect everyone to keep my insane hours... ;)
