I'm the proud new owner of two male neutered Sugar Gliders. 2.5yrs old.

Their owner died (loved them dearly to neuter and build a 7ft pvc cage) and her friend got them and neglected them (the cage was absolutely disgusting from what I've been told) one got loose and she freaked out and shut him in the room and LOCKED THE DOOR. She called a friend that works with us to come get him and let him have them for free with everything. He got them back around December when I got my two rats. His wife got another job with a scattered schedule and he felt like they wouldn't get the kind of care they need, so he offered them to us for free. We picked them up yesterday! They are so darn friendly. More so than my rats. I have them on BML right now because I was able to get ahold of the ingredients. They even came with one of the two calcium supplements that you need for BML so I believe their first owner was feeding it. Our friend was feeding pellets and fruits. I plan on switching to one of the HPW diets, I just can't get the supplement anywhere except online lol.

Wooooohoo!
Congrats on the new additions! Sounds like they're finally in a good place again.

Sugar Gliders are the one pet that I never have any desire to own. LOL Way too high maintenance for me, and I really wish more people realized what kind of care they need before getting them.

My co-worker told me I should go home fifteen minutes early today. So I decided to go to the station and see my friend, since it was before 5pm and I could get in the front door and surprise him without having to text him and let him know I was there so he could let me in the back. I ended up being there until almost 9pm talking to him.

It was weird to be there. I haven't been in the station for probably at least six months... and the last time I was there, it was weird too. I was sitting at another ex-co-worker's desk and looked at a post-it that had station names and some passwords on it and I thought "What are those for? I know those. Why do I know those? OH YEAH." They were for copy I used to retrieve every week... affidavits I filled out every month.
Behind my friend was a post-it note with a website address, username, and password - in my handwriting.
I laughed because pinned to his bulletin board is a paper sign somebody printed out to attach to his office door that read "DOOR." Attached to the DOOR is a post-it I wrote that says "DOOR SIGN." Another ex-co-worker had written on another post-it and attached it to mine, "DOOR SIGN POST-IT."
There's a wipe-off board outside one of the recording studios, with a little picture I drew still on it. I drew that probably, oh, four years ago at this point?

It feels foreign because I haven't been there in so long, and yet it's familiar because it's just like it was when I left. Exactly the same as it was for five years... comfortable and uncomfortable all at once.

"If the GM retires, will you tell me, and maybe I'll come back and work here again?" I asked my friend.

Every. ****. day.

I like how it's going to be hottest today while I'm at work, and back to 40 an hour before I'm off. Boo, weather. You're no fun :p

Im learning Spanish. Do I thought, hey, why not watch an episode of Gilmore Girls in Spanish.
HOLY CRAP. I thought they were fast speakers in English. Nothing compaired to the Spanish voiceovers.

Moving out Easter weekend. So excited to be on my own.

Just gonna be me and Izzie, the way we like it! :)

It is pretty scary though! I'm gonna have to work my ass off for this but it's so worth it.

I think I might be like...a goody-two-shoes. I mean...I never would've thought that about myself. But when out to dinner with coworkers tonight, I was hearing about some CRAZY (to me) stuff that they have done and I'm like..."my favorite movie is stepbrothers" lmao! Like that's as "bad" as I get. I'm a virgin. I've never been drunk. I'm a legit goody-two-shoes and it's kind of cracking me up lol!

You should watch their morning news programs. They talk FAST and are all talking at once so ... Lol.

How I learned was I rented a movie I had seen a million times that was dubbed in Spanish and set English subtitles on it. Then I self graduated to watching movies and shows I knew without subtitles.

That was back in 2007 when I started that and it has worked so well that OH thinks it's pretty cute and points out when I switch back and forth to Spanish (because I speak Spanish without even realizing it).

I'm sat in a lay by waiting for something and theres a tiny food van here and a guy just emerged and began praying beside the very busy road.

I love these little snippets into life.

Trying to decide if I'm desperate enough to apply to a local doggy daycare/boarding facility. I was a kennel tech for 6 years. I really have no desire to be a kennel tech again. But I need a job, and I'd take being a kennel tech over working as a sales clerk. I think. *sigh*
I'm hoping to have an interview with a grooming salon this week, and if that falls through I think I'll be desperate enough. I need to be working, because money doesn't grow on trees.

Well... as usual I have no idea how that interview went. They seemed to like me but that doesn't mean anything. I'm worried since I don't have print experience they'll be like "meh." My only hope is basically that I have a wide range of skills, and they were looking for somebody who could grow the position based on a variety of skills, so... yeah. Maybe? They're hoping to make a decision next week so I guess I'll know one way or another soon.

The other place still hasn't called me.

I think I'm just extremely negative, because the last kennel I worked at was...not well managed. At all. Hard work, no appreciation, and very limited maintenance was done. We were basically expected to work magic and make this awesome boarding atmosphere with little to no proper equipment or hours. I liked the animals (well, most of them LOL), I liked the job...but I was burnt out by the end of it.

I also thought about applying for part time work at the local humane society (get paid and feel like I was making a difference, even if the emotional toll will be high), but on the application they ask you if your pet is spayed/neutered. Do I lie and say no? Or say yes, and then most likely not get hired? What kind of question is that, anyway? What does the status of my dogs' balls have to do with whether or not I'd be a competent employee? Good grief. I was also thinking about fostering with them through their "baby brigade" and volunteering to take in orphaned bottle baby kittens. Now I'm wondering if they'd even let me, due to Abrams' balls. Jeez.

I've done both. I miss kennel work a bit, it's kind of soothing to me, but I guess I don't miss the manual labor. It's kind of nice to ride into retail on a stormy or cold winter day and be able to stay inside. I really enjoy my retail job, the work specifically.

When I first moved here I looked into volunteering a bit at two local shelters-both had applications, they needed to know if your pets were fixed, and wanted vet references and so forth. Bizarre. One even wanted you to come in on like a work schedule and you had to commit to so much time a week.

I'm staring a new position in a different area of the zoo as soon as Monday. I had planned on staying in my current position as well, since we're a public/privat partnership and I currently work for the private portion, and the new position is with the public portion. However, the zoo has a policy that you cannot work for both for 30 days following the start of a public-side position.

So...starting Monday I'll be taking a leave of absence from my current position until May 15. And then, depending on what happens with the job I just interviewed for yesterday, I may be moving 3 1/2 hours away. And that would mean this coming Sunday would be my last day in this department. If I don't get the job I just interviewed for, then I will be coming back to myoriginal department in a limited capacity (lunch coverage Mon-Fri for and hour and 2 days of animal care each week).

Then all this happened just prior to my weekly volunteer time in another department, so I went "Oh ****, I wonder if I can still volunteer..." and the answer is no, no I cannot still volunteer. And that question was not answered until after I left that department for the day. So today may very well have been my last day volunteering.

I'm excited for this opportunity, but I'm not ready for it to be my last day in either department yet. I love both of them SO much. I don't want to go :'(

Only in my town would someone rob a bank, go eat lunch at KFC (a mile from first bank), then leave KFC and go directly across the street to rob another bank.

Last fall my area had a string of bank robberies by an elderly man. He got away with two, with no one having luck identifying him. Then he got greedy and went for a third, where he was caught.

Is two not enough for you?! Greedy.
