My vet told me that I should try to remove stress from Dotty's life as much as possible because it can hurt her immune systems ability to fight the mites.

I want to take her to a Lure Course fundraiser this weekend and I know that excercise helps the immune system but will the stress or excitement actually be a problem?

She is a very drivey pup and I think it would do her good to blow of some steam. I had one dog trainer tell me that even OB training can be stressful and might cause a problem.

What do you guys think?

I don't think it would be a problem.. It's very good for dogs to get out and explore.. take them to events etc.. exercise is VERY good for your dogs and they won't get depressed sitting inside all day.

I would wait until she's better. Exercise might be okay, but probably less excitement and stimulation for now.

Stress can be bad stress - like fear - or good stress - like learning something new or going to a fun event. So yeah, I do think it'd be stressful for her to go to this event. Whether it's TOO stressful for her immune system, I couldn't say. I've heard of dogs with mange flareups when the seasons change, because that is too stressful for their bodies. It's hard to say how much is too much.
