Awww, sorry! I must've missed this the first time. Nothing wrong with strawberries. My old golden retriever loved them.

Never heard anything bad about strawberries, so I see no problem. I know I love them, but my dog doesn't touch much of that sort of stuff unless she's very very hungry. Otherwise it just gets sniffed chewed maybe and left on the floor.

My dogs love strawberries also, and I can't say I blame the, yummy! I've never heard anything negative in regards to giving them to dogs.

I'm sorry nobody responded to your post, it's a busy site and sometimes post can go unseen. It still can make us feel bad. Bumping the message back up will probably get you more response.

Sorry 'bout that, Laney! I've never heard or read anything about strawberries being a problem. Oddly, they're about the only kind of berries that my Grrrrrls don't care much for.

My dogs LOVE strawberries, so much in fact that I've increased the length of my strawberry patch to double the size. I talked to my Vet and she said they were fine, I just don't let them go overboard on them. When I ask "who wants to raid the strawberry patch?" they all race to get to them first. With 5 dogs, with everthing from sensitive tummies to allergies, I was very pleased to see that this treat didn't cause any ill effects for any of them. I only let them have a few each day,my poor hubby's lucky if he gets any:D .

Doc, I will have to try to get you some photos of my Grrrrrls picking blackberries this summer :D Kharma is already combing the brambles with high hopes. Last November she managed to find one last blackberry clinging valiantly to an inner branch. Nothing hides from the Fila snoot, lol!

Oh, it's wonderful! They pull their lips up and back (kind of like Austrian shades, lol) and just delicately use their front teeth to pluck the berries. They even smack their lips after they've savored the taste :D

Bimmer is the exceptional one though. When he finds a really nice patch of berries he eats just a few, then he comes back and gets me and shows them to me, then moves on to find another patch . . . He's just the best . . .

Shiva, on the other hand, I have to watch as she will try to steal mine out of the bucket at least once. She's so stealthy that she can wipe out a quart before you even realize she's got her head in the bucket.

They sound so comical, the way you describe them really paints a funny picture.;)
