So a litter of dogs that will have guarding and herding tendencies. Might be a very bad mix for most families.

And that she has posted before how she'd like to breed Laika if she can find a male. And how she bought Sirius "with breeding plans!".

But it was accidental and she didn't know.

I never said i wanted to breed laika. And i didnt buy sirius with breeding plans the breeder asked if i would be ok with her using him as a stud in the future

Not every breeding takes, but a halfway decent person would have preemptively done something to prevent the birth of the litter. Now you have a large group of a terrible mix of puppies, most of which will without a doubt be bounced around from home to home for the rest of their lives causing problems. Laika's temperament is less that desirable from what I recall, let's hope penis head pulls through on that front!

There's more to it than how they are towards people. Just because they like people doesn't mean they have a desirable temperament, just like how just because they chase a cat doesn't mean they herd.

I know we all predicted this would happen but maybe we can help somehow? I don't have any answers but 11 puppies is a lot and responsible breeders have trouble finding homes for less puppies routinely. Imagine finding good homes for unhealth tested parents from a first time breeder...

Its only 10 now. I lost the runt. And before people jump on me for that i tried to save him he was to small and to weak he was only 7oz and that was after gaining 2 oz from extra feedings

That is sound advice! You should seriously consider following it...

The babies are here now... yelling, and playing the blame game is not going to help them any.

I think we should all concentrate on giving her good advice on how to care for them and getting them a good start in life along with finding good homes for them.

10 is still a lot of puppies, and black border collie mixes are easily the third most common type of dog in my local shelters after chihuahuas and pit bulls. Hopefully you have already started looking for responsible homes for them.

I strongly suggest you pick up a copy of Dr. Sophia Yin's 'Perfect Puppy', as it has extensive information about socializing litters in the early weeks. The more time/effort/money you invest in getting them crate trained, leash walking, basic manners trained, and altered before they leave you, the more likely they are to stay in their new homes when they hit that adolescent stage.

For future reference, once you know the dogs tie - just spay the female right away.

There are lots of good rescue groups in Minnesota that might do courtesy listings of the puppies and/or help you through the process of evaluating potential homes. If you go to Petfinder there is an option to search for rescues in your area.
