Just Bragging on my boy....He still dislikes the crate, but Tuesday night my hubby INSISTED that I leave Shane out for the night (he said Shane had kept him up Monday night whining, not tru by the way). SO I took him out before I went to bed as usual, he ran in jumped up in my chair (his favorite spot), and I left him and went to bed. He came into my room about 7am jumped on the side of the bed to wake me up, I put him out and then inspected for "accidents" NONE! He's been out of the crate every night since and still no accidents. He comes into my room and wakes me up every morning to go out!:D Last night he did use the puppy p pad that we keep down for our older dog (I know it was his poop, too big for hers, LOL). I'm still using the crate when we leave during the day, because he does tend to play with the remote, my husband's glasses and other inappropriate stuff.
Yesterday, I left him out when I went to work in my classroom for awhile, my son was home, but he went off into the computer room and wasn't paying attention. He said he heard Shane barking.....(apparently at the door to go out) and when he came into the living room a few minutes later Shane had had an accident, he barked at my son as if to say, "see what you made me do"..and ran to the door. Poor baby. I"M SO PROUD of him. He's only 15 weeks old. I know I know, he will still have accidents, but so far so good.:D

It does sound like he's coming long great. Just be careful not to give him too much freedom too soon....like if he starts having accidents too much, it will set him back in learning. 15 weeks is really young. But it seems like he's getting along really well. I don't think I've had a dog I could trust before 10 months or a year old. LOL. My Doberman wasn't reliable until he was over a year old. The big baby!

THat's awesome!!!!!!!

My dogs never needed one, i do not use crates. Once we were past the 3 month mark we are a hundred percent. I am very careful to take them out on schedule and that is often. In the beginning i use a timer in case i get distracted. WE did have a safe room tho where they couldn't get into anything that would hurt them.

THANKS:he;s doing so well thanks to those of you on Chaz that helped me. Smkie, I did use the timer to make sure I didn't forget to take him out, just as you suggested. When I'm home I watch him like a hawk, which isn't to hard..if he's in the house he's in my chair with me...:lol-sign:, as soon as he gets down from the chair we go outside to walk. I always go out with him to make sure he does his business first, then sometimes, if he's wanting to play we'll play, or I'll leave him to play with the other dogs. I'll be posting more pics soon, he's grown so much. But, rest assured he's not fully trusted yet, everyone is on their toes.
