I was just wondering if any of you had any inspirational or motivational quotes that have helped you stay positive and get through school or hard times?

I think a lot of people could use them, and I am wanting to make some signs or something with some quotes to hang in my room and stuff to remind me to think positive and that everything is going to be ok.

I love:

It takes years to build trust and seconds to break it.

And I especially love:

It's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Bake while the oven is hot. ~ Persian proverb

One hour of thinking is better than one thousand years of praying ~ Persian proverb

Failure is always passed on the way to success.

If you're going through hell - keep going.

Fall seven times, stand up eight.

Act as if it were impossible to fail.

The best way to predict your future is to create it.

I have so many favorite quotes! Here are some I've some across that I really liked. There are some that mean more to me than others but I think they all are good ones.

The more aware you are, the more correlations you make, and the more things you can relate to one another and to yourself. The more expanded your awareness, the greater self-knowledge and understanding you will have. With greater understanding there is more forgiveness and compassion, less judgement and blame. When you live your understanding and compassion, it becomes wisdom.
-Leonard Laskow-

Wisdom begins with wonder.
-Socrates-

Teachers open the door but you must walk through it yourself.
-Chinese Proverb-

Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us.
-Earl Nightingale-

Some look at things that are, and ask why.
I dream of things that never were and ask why not?
-George Bernard Shaw-

The most effective way to achieve right relations with any living thing is to look for the best in it, and then help that best into the fullest expression.
-Allen J. Boone-

A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances,
but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.
-Hugh Downs-

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.
-TS Eliot-

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
-Mark Twain-

With courage you will dare to take risks,
have the strength to be compassionate and the wisdom to be humble.
Courage is the foundation of integrity.
-Keshavan Nair-

When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth.
So, what the hell, leap.
-Cynthia Heimel-

Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?
-Frank Scully-

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak.
Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
-Winston Churchill-

Fear grows out of the things we think; it lives in our minds.
Compassion grows out of the things we are, and lives in our hearts.
-Barbara Garrison-

At first, dreams seem impossible, then improbable, and eventually inevitable. -Christopher Reeve-

All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them.
-Walt Disney-

Hitch your wagon to a star.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-

The man who has no imagination has no wings.
-Muhammad Ali-

No matter what age you are, or what your circumstances might be, you are special, and you still have something unique to offer.
Your life, because of who you are, has meaning.
-Barbara De Angelis-

Think for yourself and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too.
-Voltaire-

Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths,
but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.
-Anne Frank-

It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.
-Herman Melville-

If you could get rid of yourself just once, the secret of secrets would open to you. The face of the unknown, hidden beyond the universe would appear on the mirror of your perception.
-Rumi-

Meditation is not a way to enlightenment,
Nor is it a method of achieving anything at all.
It is peace itself.
It is the actualization of wisdom,
The ultimate truth of the oneness of all things.
-Dogen-

Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. Peace is not merely the absence of war. It is also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people.
-Jawaharlal Nehru-

Stop going with the flow in your life. Start your own river instead.
-Phillip C. McGraw-

Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint you can on it.
-Danny Kaye-

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable,
racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be
alive is a grand thing.
-Agatha Christie-

There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.
-Mother Teresa-

The best and most beautiful things in this world
cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.
-Helen Keller-

Love is like playing the piano. First you must learn to play by the rules,
then you must forget the rules and play from your heart.
-Unknown-

You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body,
but you will never imprison my mind.
-Mahatma Gandhi-

Be the change you wish to see in the world.
