I don't even "do" Greek salad with lettuce in it. I'd have thought they made a mistake if you hadn't said otherwise. Ugh. Once I blended the Greek salad dressing so the oil emulsified and that was weird enough.

A couple of places where I've been a "regular" where the owners are actually Greek (one I've known since he first came to the U.S. and was struggling with English) do americanize them by doing a bed of lettuce, but the middle eastern place in Knoxville does the REAL Greek salads.
I would KILL to know where they get their feta, too. It's . . . . WOW.
The lettuce, tomato, cucumber, whatever salad though . . . meh. I'll pass. Even a serving of feta with it can't save it.
I kinda figure if you get a salad at a grocery deli you pretty much get what you get and shouldn't expect anything real, unless it's at a bar and you make it yourself.
I like German potato salad. All the various potato, pasta, and macaroni salads that get brought to picnics and BBQs and such I think are gross. I can handle chicken and shrimp salad in small doses. I think I just don't like my food cold, lol.
I don't remember liking the bread. Though I also don't remember liking what was in between the bread, either. Fries were good, but I haven't really tasted a fry I didn't like.
