Yup I saw this on Global! They mentioned the breed and everything, it was great. Usually when it's bad press it's a "pit bull" and when it's good press it's a "dog."

In the Lower Mainland of BC I think only Coquitlam has BSL? Richmond might too? Anyways. It's great.

I don't think so. I'm in the tri-cities, and there are buttloads of pitbulls and such. Maybe they're from Poco or Port Moody though.. I certainly hope we don't have BSL so close!

Here's the scoop:

Coquitlam: pit bulls are automatically deemed "vicious" and must be muzzled in public, never offleash, etc.

Richmond: same as Coquitlam, deemed "dangerous," subject to higher licensing fees

PoCo appears clean, as does Port Moody (PoMo?)

Vancouver repealed its BSL bylaw in '05

Enforcement is another thing. I walk offleash in non offleash areas, and bylaw officers have seen me. I just call the dog back and leash him, they've never had a problem. So I don't imagine they would care too much if he was a "pit bull."
