Yeah so I pretty much fail as a Chazzer! Not only do I keep sinking into lurk mode but I have had a new dog since late October and haven't posted one single picture of him.
Sooo here we go! He is a rescued saluki, from Qatar. He's somewhere around 1.5 to 2 years. Probably not quite 2.

This is the picture I fell in love with while looking through all the dogs available in Qatar. Never noticed till later there is a big dog turd right in front if him :lol-sign:

His name is Wassim. It means handsome in Arabic. Although I had a huge list of names (I've been waiting 15 years for a saluki!) it suited him so well that I kept it. This is when he was still at the rescue in Qatar.

After a 3 month wait we finally found a flight buddy! On the big day I got this pic sent to me and I stayed up all night tracking his 18 hour flight!

The lady in the blue hoodie is Beth. She is a volunteer at the rescue in Qatar. She took so many pics and videos for me while I was waiting. Then she even changed her vacation dates so she could be his fight buddy and flew into Toronto instead of her destination in Nova Scotia.

The next day.

This pretty much sums up Robyn's relationship with him the first week or so. She had torn a nail and was grumpy and miserable.

He is such a cuddle bug!

As soon as Robyn's nail fell off and she could play without pain they became great friends!

He was not thrilled with the lake. He loves to play in sprinklers though so hopefully we'll get him swimming in the summer!

He is still learning how to play with toys. He still cowers or runs for cover if you have a ball in your hand though :(

He hates the cold! I've got to admit I am having fun buying him clothes!

There we go! He is such a doll, such great manners with both people and dogs. Loves everyone. In true Saluki style he loves to sing and howl and mutter and talk back. :p

SO MUCH JEALOUS! I love him! He's absolutely stunning.

Want a Saluki so bad. Traveler was almost one and then right before I was getting him I had an SalukixIbizan cross offered to me. Life is not fair.

You need to post a million more pictures of him ok?

The ears are usually cropped on hunting and racing salukis. Probably hunting, given his intense reaction to cats and squirrels!
He wandered into the rescue from the desert all by himself one day last June! Smart cookie! He had a badly broken hip a very long time ago that was left to heal it's self, he's covered in scars and is terrified of having stuff thrown at him. That's all we know.

Awww, poor guy. I bet he's happy as a clam now that he hit the jackpot with you.
Saluki's have such beautiful ears, either way Qatar is gorgeous and you can send him over to me know. :)

More pictures! If you ever tire of him, let me know ;)
It just so happens a nearly identical guy was dumped in the parking lot at one of the Qatar vets last week! Shall I have them box him up for you? :D

When I saw his pic my first thought was "I want a matched set!"
Apart from closer cropped ears and the kiss of Allah on his head he could be Waasim's doppelgänger. His name is Van Gohn!

He's a little down the page here ...
