Our house is going up for sale on the 4th, so I'm working on some final painting today. Our bathroom was in rough shape, so instead of painting the whole wall white again, I decided to sponge paint it a light sand color. The color looks funny in these pics, but you get the idea. That bathroom has a beach theme so the walls are going to look really nice I think when it's all done. What do you guys think?

Before and after :p

We refinished the counters too

This is the overall effect...I forgot to mention that we installed new lighting too

I love beach themed bathrooms, my parents have one, complete with a shell-framed mirror, and shells EVERYWHERE. The walls are similar to yours, only the colour is more coral and less sandy, and it looks really pretty.

I like the way yours is turning out!

Yeah, I just bought a medium sized real sponge. The real ones are more expensize than the fake ones, but the effect is so much better. It's fun to do it, it just gets tedious after four hours! :yikes:

Oh, and yes everyone, the blue "border" is indeed painters tape and it will be coming down today lol. :lol-sign:

Wow! That looks awesome! It looks more like wallpaper, than it does paint. It also looks VERY time-consuming to do! I hope you sell your house quickly & get top dollar for it! :)

I love sponge painting! it's the one thing I can do quickly. I love when you also put a glaze 'wash' over it to give the effect a more muted tone...very warming and blended. beach themes are so cool in the bath. :) I've even done a room with a feather duster.......dip the feathers in paint, lightly dab on paper towels.....and have at it. tooooo much fun! good luck on the sale!!!!!!
