Opinions needed on a girl name.

I think the name Taylor is really cute :D

Most of the names I like aren't popular names. I grew up with a really common name (Jessica) and ended up going by Jessie for my entire life so that I wouldn't share it with too many people.

If we have a daughter, we're most likely going to name her Marlie. Ian and I have been pretty set on that name for a while. I like the name Summer as well for a girl... and I really like Emma, but it's too popular for me. Rae will probably go for a middle name for the first child born with any of those names.
Rylie is my favorite name... and sometimes I regret naming my dog that.

For a boy's name I really like Ryland or Rylan... I also like Liam, Kaiden, and Aiden.

I think about names a lot... lol... always good to be prepared ;)
Rylie was one name we thought about when we had madison. Too bad it was already taken by a friend. I hate that. lol.

Er, aren't all names technically "made up" ?
Once upon a time. Big difference between a Biblical name (for example) that is thousands of years old and one that has been plucked out of thin air because it is "fashionable".

A name that isn't made up. Alternative spellings are not alternative - they are stupid. Sure, Crystalyn Neveah is cute for a baby, but as an adult, having a name that sounds like a stripper or comic book character WILL effect your life negatively. Try applying for a job with a name like that.
LOL I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out why you care so much?

NOOOOOOOOOO riley is MY name for a girl (if we have another girl lol) I called it :p

For some reason I am not seeing the connection between video games and the name "Gage". Maybe I am just not familiar with hardly ANY video games.

I use names I like, no matter where they came from. "Gage" is an actual name. And yes, I believe all names were made up at some point.

I knew a girl named Star Light Moon, and she loved it.

From now on you must all consult with Labra before naming ANY children. He/She is the "professional" and the authority on what names get you what job :D apparently there is a guide or something that tells you.

Professional was just an EXAMPLE!! say you have two female graduates...going for their first 'big' job, in whatever area they qualified in. One has a regular name, call her what you will. Let's just call her Laura someone. Then you have the other girl, who has some wacky 'fashionable' name. Something weird like Crystalyn or KittyJayne (yes, I know of a person that had this stupid name).

In professional work, having a crazy name doesn't look good.

So its ok to name a dog something trendy but not a child? Whats does trendy mean? Just something you think is cute?? I suppose you can say Madison and Hannah are trendy names, after all, they ARE on the top 10 most popular names. So what?

I like Isaiah, and its biblical, but thats not why I like it. I like it because I think its a nice name.

Dogs and people...totally different context.

I don't mean trendy. I mean made up (Rayven Janeence etc.) type names that are now fashionable.

But all names are made up, regardless of whether they're 'biblical' or not. Are you saying that we're stuck with the same set of names until the end of time?

Generally a 'professional' is a hitman.

Strippers are professionals at what they do lol
Yah they are!

No. Weird dog names are equally as stupid. I hate having to sort out each owner's special spelling of traditional words.

I looooove the name Rylie... I think it's so pretty. When I bought my dogs I wasn't planning on ever having kids (I was 20 at the time). It would be really weird to have 2 Rylie's, and Ian wouldn't go for it. Haha. I like girls names that end with the "e" sound.

The only confusing thing with the name Ryland and Rylie would be that they'd both have the nickname "Rye."

Annnnd I don't understand the "non professional" name thing... it's 2008. I'm sure that 100 years ago "Rylie" or "Chloe" would've seemed unprofessional... considering the names that were around then. My grandmother thought it was weird that my parents were naming me Jessica, even! Her name was Marian. My other grandmother was Veronica.

Names generally change with the times. There are some that I really dislike (like Nevaeh, Pilot Inspector, Spoon, etc) however those aren't really even names in my opinion.

I personally don't like weird spellings either . My mother hated her name " Isabelle " and look how popuular it is today . When I named my first Michael , it wasn't as popular , and look at it now ! I'm glad that my grandboys are Ian and Nash .

How about the name "Apple"? I dont like names like that either. Just not my thing. I remember when I thought cole/coal was weird when I first heard it years ago, but now I do not. Times change. I dont want to be stuck with the same old names FOREVER.

Yes, Madilyn would be too close to Madison. Plus the nicknames for both are "Maddie".

Think of what nicknames may arise too .
^^^Exactly!! I have known people who named their kids a name they liked, even though they did not like the same name's common nickname. Their reasoning was "Well, everyone will just have to use the full name."
Guess what? Everyone didn't ... and won't.

I also like Brianna (pronounded "ah-na" instead of "an-na".
Thank you!!! One of my nieces is Brianna, and we all hate when people pronounce it "Bree-annn-ah". It's "Bree-ah-na" dammit!

He likes the name Autumn. I didnt care for it at first, but I guess its growing on me a little bit.
Growing like a fungus on a pile of leaves? (just kidding)

But seriously, you have to think of not only possible nicknames but also "playground possibilities". I knew a girl named Autumn. That girl has heard at least a thousand times "Bye Autumn .... seeya next Fall." ... and each one of the thousand people who said that to her thought they were so clever and original.

The more I think about it, the more I get obsessed about Taylor, lol. And its funny because one of Reggins litter mates is named "Madison Taylor".
Ooooohh!! Almost seems like fate may have suggested a name!

Sorry, that made me laugh. LOL.

Yeah, is there a name out there that you CANT make fun of? I swear. lol.

It was a huge coincidence. I had no idea that his sister name was Madison Taylor. It was so weird, because when Madison was not born yet, I was considering both names.

Kids will make fun of ANY name, and someday there will be alot of professional Brady's, Gage's, Madison's etc. I used to think Xander was too different for my tastes, but once I got used to it, it just sounds like a good, masculin name. And whatever name you pick, you might see your baby and change your mind! Always check to see what the initials spell, tho...I know some people w/BAD combinations there!

Reggins dads name is Xander. I almost named him that because he is basically a twin of his father.

Oh yeah, and gotta check those initials as well. lol.
