Ontario chaz meet up

I'm in; if anyone wants to meet a Central Asian Shepherd; I'll bring Kim. I'm just down in the Niagara Region.

I'm so excited - 3 weeks and I'll be getting my Boerboel pup, yay!

Id love to be able to bring Duke but he is DR. So he needs his space. So a leash meet up wiould be prefered with me. But even if we decide on a group play time then I have no problem with leaving him at home and just coming out by myself and enjoying some good company.

west is towards hamilton, east is the other way :p

So basically we are all around TO in a semi circle. I guess it comes down to what kind of a meet up we want. Do we want people to be able to bring DR dogs? So a leashed meet up. OR do we want a meet up with dogs running together..then we need a fenced area.

Couldn't we have it both ways? If there was an area that was fenced for the dogs that were able to play, and dogs that aren't could hang out outside the area? One of my three couldn't be off-leash with other dogs, the other two would love it.

There are some great fenced ball diamonds here (two side by side) but they are occupied most of the summer...

eta: where are meet-ups typically?

I wouldn't let any dog of mine except Bounce run with others

Hey Mafia... I wonder if we could all rent a field at spot on for a day?

What about a Sunday a.m.?

If we are dedicated enough to be online now talkin' we certainly could have an early morning meetup somewhere -- before the crowds.

I was thinking of more of a dayish thing. If people are driving a couple of hours then lets pic some place where we could stay a while if we are having a good time.

The only large area I can think of is off of HWY 6 (Guelph area) when I drove that way to Duke's behaviorist I see a huge area that looks fairly somewhat fenced in and everyone is walking there dogs there leashed and off leashed. But only thing is the area looks highly populated with people walking their dogs. But it seems to be a huge place as well. Never actually walked around it. I know we want to find a more controlled area with only us there. It was just a place that pooped into my mind.

I just emailed Spot on. If she is amenable we could all throw in a few dollars. It would be quiet private and we could stay all day.

AND those who know agility could likely run a few times in one of the rings (might cost extra)

Sounds like a great plan Dekka. I dont mind tossin in some money for a enjoyable day.

Just east of port perry.. north of oshawa So its relatively central.

I live about an hour east of Toronto and would love a meet up. :) I don't know if my dog could handle the excitement but I'd leave her at home.

We used to to hold family reunions at community halls, but the fields weren't fenced.

if we did it at Spot on your dog would have the option of being with the others, or staying leashed.

There is the option of still staying leashed? I thought it would be like a big room and that was it. Id still probably just leave Duke at home anyways. He can have some great days and then he can have some bad days. I would hate to take him to this and him have a bad day.

no its an agility venue. Out doors... two 100 by 110? foot fenced rings. Lots of area around the rings, and unleashed romping area out back.

We have 7 dogs, only one of which is an off leash romp with others sort of a dog.

I'm IN!!!

I'd bring Sierra, but have her crate in the car incase she gets uneasy about the other dogs (which might be likely, but she was GREAT when we were last at Spot On).

Keep me updated, I'll be there for sure, provided I have a car by then :D

I don't mind paying.

I will surely bring Cricket and Kena. Mochi probably wouldn't enjoy the company of the other dogs, but he would sure enjoy meeting all the people!! I will probably bring him and keep him separate. Everyone must promise to say hi to him and receive kisses though!
