Most of you know that my first sheltie, Beau, was shot to death by a cruel neighbor about 5 years ago. He came into our yard and shot him at close range. We rushed him to the vet but even after lots of money, he died. It's taken me a long time, and I'm still not over it. Well, today my mom called me and said that their neighbor's dog, Nala, was shot last night!!! :yikes:
Nala's owners live two houses across from my old house where Beau was shot. Nala was a 5 year old lab cross who was incredibly sweet. She was tied out on her stake while her owners were at work, and when they came home, she had been shot at close range with the exact same type of gun that shot Beau. Nala was still alive but barely. They rushed her to the vet, but like Beau, she didn't make it. They have filed several police reports and supposedly they will do an investigation, but my husband (a cop) doubts they will be able to arrest the sicko without proof. Please pray that this killer gets caught. He took my Beau away from me, and now we are positive that he's done it again. Also, please pray for Nala's family. They are devestated.
RIP sweet Nala :(

i hope they find him, tie him via rope to a stake in the ground and shoot him with his own gun close range!

I personally think the punishment should fit the crime, and this pos deserves the exact same treatment hes given those dogs!

:yikes: Someone should go put a couple of close-range shots into the side of his house/car with a note that says "How do you like it?"

Oh my God!! What is WRONG with people, seriously?? The worst part is even if they do prove it was him, all he'll get is a slap on the wrist. :(

Oh my gosh!! That's horrible! I hope they catch whoever did it...but at the same time, she shouldn't have been tied out there all by herself with no one home. :(

I hope he rots i hell those dogs are waiting for him to meet his fate.
That is so sad 1st dogs than kids..

So sorry about your dog and this one makes me very sad and angrey.

Thats why i moved out here you trespass I by law can take out my rifle more so then my dog. Up here no one gets close.....

The weird thing is that we thought he had moved out of the neighborhood, but a couple of kids say that they've seen him walking through it recently. Actually, Nala's owners already have one police report on file against this guy because the mom was washing dishes one night and saw the guy come into their backyard with an axe and a piece of rope. There were no cars in the driveway so he probably thought that no one was home. He went over to Nala and started to tie the rope around her neck, but the mom called the cops and he ran away when he heard the sirens coming. This guy is really freaky and desperately needs to be caught. It's really making me nervous.

Oh my gosh! :( That's horrible! Those poor dogs! I'm so sorry. What a sicko. I hope hope hope he gets caught and gets a harsh punishment.

I was really hoping that someone wasn't going to bring that up. It doesn't make a difference where the heck the dog is if someone is determined to do them harm. Beau was behind a fence with a lock on it when he was killed, and we were home. He had just been let out to potty. Nala's owners are wonderful people who take great care of their animals. They are struggling financially due to family health problems so both of them work full time. Nala is a large dog who can't stay in the house all day, so leaving her on a run in the backyard is their only option. After she was shot, they spent money that the didn't have to try to save her, and they are devestated. Please don't make snap judgments like that. There is NO excuse for what this guy did regardless of where the dog was.

WTF!!!! Hoooly crap, that guy sounds like a complete wacko.

WOW. You really just react to things you THINK are being said, don't you?

I never said they were horrible people. I never said they didn't love their dog. I never said it was okay for this man to kill somebody's dog. I said why was the dog left on a tie-out when NO ONE WAS HOME? And ESPECIALLY when they KNEW there was some CREEP who wanted to KILL THEIR DOG? I most certainly would never leave my dogs out unattended if I knew someone was trying to murder them.

Looks to me like you're the one making the assumptions.

omg.... is he the same guy that shot your dog?

Hope he gets caught...the b@st@ard

That is one terrifying man. I would make sure to keep the phone handy. I would make sure my home was secure with motion detector security.

Creeeppppppyyyyyyyyyyyyy! OMG thats just W-R-O-N-G!!!! No dog or any animal should have to go through that, and that fact that when they got home she was still alive couldnt make things any better. I am not saying it ok to shoot the dog, but if someone was to shoot my dog that close and that bad i would hope she was dead RIGHT after the frst shot, dont call me a bad person I would only wish that is she wasnt save-able and if she was suffering...... :(

Didn't any body close by hear the gunshots? I know that if I heard a gun in my neighborhood I would call the police. How scarey, I certainly wouldn't feel safe in my own home after some one had intentionally killed one of my dogs.

omg..

How can someone BE so sick?!

Was he just tired of shooting squirrels and wanted bigger EASIER game?!

Maybe she was barking and he couldn't handle it anymore?<-- NOT an excuse btw.. just a thought..

thats insane.. i'm shocked..

Prayers for Nalas family and HOPING they catch that sicko!

I really hope that asshole gets caught

But I'm sorry, I have to agree with Gaddy that I would NEVER ever let my dog outside unattended if I knew one of the neighbors had shot one dog before... especially after the rope and axe accident. That doesn't make what the guy right of course, it's really horrible, but frankly they should have known better...

doesnt make sense... your husband is a swat officer, yet when your dog was shot nothing happened to the guy who shot your dog?

An eye for an eye thats what I say!
My dog was shot this summer, she lived.
We saw the people who did it but me and my big mouth said 'THEY SHOT HER! IM CALLING THE POLICE!' They took off (we watched through the woods). I called 911 and they sent a cop over and he went to the house and it was an old man and his gf (i think they were ice heads) and they were like no officer its just me and my wife we were playing video games. The cop came back to my house and was like 'Ya I think that that someone who shot your dog was there but without at tag # I cant do anything. Get that and call me' Well needless to say we still havent seen thouse kids back overthere (at least in the same truck).
I wish you the best of luck!
What I would want done was the bullet that shot the dog compaired to his gun and see if the patterns match up..ya see whos so innocent then. But IDK if theyd go to that extent for a dog. I just watch alot of stuff on murders..

Maybe they couldn't prove it?

Edit: I just remembered a case here in Spokane where some people purposely bricked up a dog under their porch. Some neighbors heard it barking and called animal control, who rescued it . . . The owners ADMITTED to doing it . . . and they weren't prosecuted because no one had WITNESSED them doing it!! Even though they admitted it! Our animal abuse laws need a SERIOUS overhaul.
