Caro has always had that one from advanced up. After Cider was done novice and we started practicing advanced, the place we took some practice runs had large sign holders that were mini fold up signs, a foot tall, almost as wide. Cider was SO happy to jump after months of no agility, that she would run around jumping the signs like a jumpers course. Maddening slightly but hilarious.
You'd think that sing would be a breeze for my agility kids, but every so often they have a 'duh' moment and totally don't see the jump.. and in the levels my kids play Smudge can 'redo' a sign like once, Cider none. Smudge blew a nice round cause he went wha? there's a jump? no there is not.. It's okay, just funny my agility dogs occasionally can't find it

Biggest differences between AKC and APDT are that you can take food into the ring in APDT and feed at certain points, but that it is 3 points for every second command. In novice, the signs are pretty similar, and now AKC is adding a bunch of new signs so the difference will be less, but level 3 APDT has harder signs. Drop on recall, directed jumping, baby signals, retrieve.
From a more subjective standpoint, I find APDT judging to be more consistent and the courses to be harder and more interesting.
